Wow, so we should be happy our basic human rights aren't being violated. I do appreciate what I have but telling me about how women in Iran and Afghanistan and other countries don't have the freedom to wear nailpolish really doesn't bring about that appreciation.

People who use others' suffering as a way to try to get those who suffer less to appreciate what they have. Sorry but that just makes me more concerned for the people suffering more. "It could be worse" doesn't make me feel better. Why do so many people love using that tactic? There's a certain point when people should just be able to express their frustrations and feel however they feel. Yes, others may have it worse, but that doesn't erase the pain someone suffering less may still be experiencing.

Agree. Only thing I'd say is that point is uncertain because it's subjective.

Two part peeve:

Part 1 - Businesses that hire people to stand outside in ridiculous costumes waving at passersby.

Part 2 - That some people need such jobs.

I hope you are feeling better today.

Think of the flip side: You could have had the same work done 100+ years ago and you would have gotten a shot of whiskey to dull the pain Ouch!!!

Hey, look it at this way, they're in a costume and most likely people won't be able to id them.

In good weather, it's a plum of a job - sweet. Not so, in bad weather.
