Good Morning everyone

Today's Question(s):

Do you like to negotiate ?

No, I really don't. I've been told that I'm good at it, but I don't enjoy it.

What was the last thing you negotiated for ?

Aside from work, where it's a pretty regular occurrence, the last time I recall was when we bought our car, about four years ago.

Bonus Question:

What are some of the things they have now that you wish were around when you were younger ?

Mostly medical advances. I wish that treatments for congenital dislocated hips had been a bit more advanced back in the 1950s than they were.

Extra Credit Question:

Other than "chat type" sites ,what other websites do you check through out the day ?

(To make sure we stay with in the TOS lets not post links)

I visit the NPR news site daily, and a couple of local news sites. I visit WisCon (the world's leading feminist science fiction convention). I visit Charley's Caring Bridge site.

Just for Fun:

Does your alarm clock wake with beeping or with music ?

It beeps at me.

How many times do you usually hit the snooze alarm ?

Just once most mornings.

Last edited by MidwesternBookWorm; 07-27-2009 at 05:42 AM.. Reason: Realized the car is only four years old, not five.

Do you like to negotiate ?
What a great question Karla! I like the idea of negotiating & admire it in others. I'm still a bit timid when I'm the one looking to buy.
I do the flower stands for several local fairs & festivals; and I'm much better on the selling end of negotiating.
Rarely do I say no to someone's offer.

What are some of the things they have now that you wish were around when you were younger ?
All things internet & computer related. Maybe if we had had them in school as today's kids do; I wouldn't be such a techno-flunkie!

Other than "chat type" sites ,what other websites do you check through out the day ?
Mostly floral wholesalers, small biz links. A you tube video maybe, if my nieces or nephews send it, etc.

Does your alarm clock wake with beeping or with music ?
Both - but I just leave it in the guest room. I wake up on my own most of the time & have my dogs to help should I even think of sleeping in!

How many times do you usually hit the snooze alarm ?
My dogs are my alarm & they do not believe in the snooze button feature. My eye found that out the hard way a few weeks ago.

Good Morning!
Here's hoping this is a good week for everyone!

Today's Question(s):

Do you like to negotiate ? No, not even a little bit

What was the last thing you negotiated for ? While helping with a garage sale - pricing on multiple items but I was the one they were trying to haggle with.

Bonus Question:

What are some of the things they have now that you wish were around when you were younger ? Computers. They weren't readily available in school just yet. (I think there was one classroom that had them when I graduated.)

Extra Credit Question:

Other than "chat type" sites ,what other websites do you check through out the day ? news, weather - and those are each a maybe. There are a few different ones that I have to go to daily at work but they aren't really "fun".

(To make sure we stay with in the TOS lets not post links)

Just for Fun:

Does your alarm clock wake with beeping or with music ? ringing

How many times do you usually hit the snooze alarm ? only once - have never used a snooze alarm. Don't even set it anymore unless I need to get up earlier than usual. Bubba puppy makes sure I get up at about the same time every day.

Today is:
National Scotch Day - I have some Scotch in me (and not the liquid type)
Bugs Bunny Day - Gotta love Bugs Bunny!
National Parents Day - Love my Parents even more!
Take Your Houseplant for a Walk Day - No. Not going to do that. I am "strange" enough the way it is don't need to have proof.

How many times do you usually hit the snooze alarm ?

Today's Question:

Do you like to negotiate ? Hmmmm I really don't enjoy negotiating a price...it makes me think of "haggling"; in jest could get into I'll swap you my begonia cuttings for your coleus cuttings.....but even then.....I am more of a giver than a swapper.
What was the last thing you negotiated for ?
Can't think of any.
Bonus Question:

What are some of the things they have now that you wish were around when you were younger ?

We did just fine back then but a few modern conveniences would have made life easier: Micro-wave oven, computer come to mind.

Extra Credit Question:

Other than "chat type" sites ,what other websites do you check through out the day ?

Americablog; cnn; my old home town newspaper;

Just for Fun:

Does your alarm clock wake with beeping or with music ?

I dont set an alarm....DP's has a beeping alarm.

Word of the Day:

I didnt know there was a caveat against posting links on C-D; in fact I thought that was preferred to long quotes. Am I wrong about that?
