I hear you!!!! I threw out all high heels when I retired. But when our son got married in March-had to give in-they lasted as long as the church service and then wore flip flops that matched my gown.

I owe about 3 pairs of shoes only really wear one daily ( out in public) and one pair around the house for general working and all... and well that pair is now about to fall completely apart and I will soon have to buy andother pair. Hopefully it will be easier then looking for my new car.

I despise shoe shopping. Due to an accident, (car hit me, while I was riding a bike, when I was 11. The kick stand cut my (L) foot & arch) I have "special needs" feet, and require shoes that lace. on top of that, I wear a size 11N.....
My pet peeve is ppl who say, "why are you limping? Did you hurt your ankle?" I've walked "like this" for 38 years......

Lol, I only wear boots or converse, no dressing up here.
Spike heels are great for punishing a guy though....if you know what I mean!

My closet was, at one time, full of dress heels. Now, I'm retired and tired and no longer need nor want them. I do have what some call 'flats' that now serve as my dress shoes. Also enjoy my walking shoes for just about everything. New shoes are a pain in the ............feet.
