Obstructions on sidewalks from newspaper vending machines to overgrown bushes, people parking their cars on them and low branches on trees. These make a sidewalk an obstacle course for those in wheel chairs.

Obstacles for prams, too. And even just for anybody.
I used to live in an area where we had to walk on the street because the sidewalks were always impossible to walk on. What's the use of building sidewalks if you can't use them?

Obstructions, eeek! I hate when youre trying to find a street and theres a big tree or something blocking the name. Or the sign is so old and faded you have to be right on top of it to see.

I'm convinced that telephone poles are erected as close to the curb as possible and angled towards the street to test truck drivers. But,yes, obstructions on a sidewalk are a pain to people with full use of their legs and SO much more so to those who must use walkers a, wheelchairs and other devices. At least many places are making the sidewalk curbs at corners much more accesible nowadays...

ME TOO!! this is a major pet peeve of mine. here in CA at least where i live the streets don't make any sense there's no grid to it. so you really need to look at street signs. well i've caught the bird more than a few times for slowing down to read a dilapitaded sign!!
