Have to add this-yesterday I slaved over 7 lbs of potato salad (hate making it), 5 lbs mac salad, covered them and put notes on them 'Do Not Open,Touch or else." Well guess what? I'm slightly ticked.
I had someone chastise me the other day for not stopping to let them cross the street at the marked crosswalk. Sorry, they were still 10 feet away from the curb, just standing there looking around, and it was a busy state highway. The sign there says "Yield to pedestrians IN the crosswalk", not "yield to pedestrians standing there trying to decide which way they want to go".

The other day I came to a 4-way stop sign. There were cars that had stopped at all 4 corners. Then there was a chick with a bike (30 ish) standing there like she was going to cross. So we all waited for her to MOVE. And we waited and she stood there. So finally I and another car start to go - she ran with her bike toward the middle of the intersection and then started swearing and screaming because we didn't wait for her. Ah, but we did wait, none of us had time to play games with her. Wacko.
Yeah,,, I hate seeing some of those drivers roll through a stop sign as well. I’ve seen a neighbor from several blocks away race down the street in front of my house and roll through the stop. The worst part is that just around the corner, out of sight is a school bus stop with kids each morning. I don’t want to see the worst, but I don’t know this neighbor by name or where she lives for sure. My only choice is to jump into the crosswalk and make her stop. then she’ll know what she’s suppose to do! Ouch!
That's a chronic problem in our city as well. My spouse walks to work each day, and has told some hair-raising tales of near misses. We always just assume that the driver of the car is going to fail to yield to us as pedestrians, and wait for it to go past. As my spouse has said many a time, we don't want the epitaph on our tombstones to read "But I Had The Right-Of-Way."
