Do you prefer receiving a text message or call?
In the last year or two I've been noticing a lot of people using text messaging to communicate with someone they just met. I can see the advantages like you don't have to worry about the person being too busy for a call or in a noisy place or worried that there may be a awkward silence, but it's so impersonal. I guess if I wanted someone to call, I'd be happy to at least get a text, but a call would be better. Do you prefer getting a call or is a text message just the same?

Meh......I`m old fashioned here, but would prefer a phone call.
Texting is impersonal. Reminds me of those self check out lanes.

I really, really dislike talking on the phone. Texting is so wonderful for me. I get anxiety whenever that stupid phone goes off.

I dont really like talking on the phone unless I have to I would rather get a phone call or even better talk to the person face to face. Texting is okay sometimes. My boyfriend calls and texts me, he knows I hate the phone.

I would rather call and actually talk with somebody. It is much easier for me just to say what I have to say... I only use texting for relaying an important message and I will be somewhere I cannot really engage in conversation, OR I have to tell somebody something, but I really do not want to talk to them.

Phone call, hands down. Texting is impersonal. I want to hear people's voices, laugh with them, flirt when appropriate, etc. Texting is fine for brief, simple messages -- nothing else.

I like text. My old GF called me every stinking hour of the day and sometimes got mad when I didn't answer. So I said text me. THen I got so many text messages I went over my text limit lol. Doesn't matter I guess.

I usually prefer texts, so I'm sure I'm not interrupting anyone.

This question was directed to people you meet for dating. I thought that was pretty obvious.
