doll lady(the other carla) - thanks to my "new food" program with the kids I have tried green beans , scallops, talipa. Because you know the first thing they ask is "what new food did you try ms karla? and I have this issue with telling the truth so I am "stuck" lol
Being such a picky eater I actually "starved" when we spent 4 days in New Orleans I ended up driving through rallys for a burger it was the only non-spiced thing I could find
ok here is a challenge !!!
I challenge everyone to try something new this week be it food or a new experience.
For those shy folks maybe saying "hi" to someone you don't know and food issue folks a new food.
I will start a new thread for the challenge

Well I must of been feeling kinka risky and thought why not. Not to mention I have the kids I teach on Tuesday's try a new food every week, so I needed one for this Tuesday.
Well it wasn't bad at all. I may have to add this to the very limited list foods I eat. (pickey eater here)
So what new thing have you tried that people take for granted ?
Rofl I am already thinking what a few members may post. It doesn't have to be food but lets try keep this a fun PG 13 thread.

All you will get from me is YUCKY, YUCKY!! PB & jelly sandwiches rank up there with brussel sprouts and liver and onions. I cannot stand PB&J! I have always thought I'm the oddest person in the world since I don't like them. Separate, I enjoy each of them. But together, not happenin' (now no throwing neg posts at me LOL! ) I honestly think it's the combination of the two textures together that keeps me from eating PB&J.
I did have Sushi this past week....love, love, love it!! What would I try? I'm pretty open and will try most anything. Oh, okay a few weeks ago I went to the Mall of America and forced myself to go on the Ferris Wheel. Huge mistake! I almost barfed my guts out. However, while it makes no sense, I headed over to the rollercoaster and whizzed around the park and loved it!!

You hate PB&J but you love sushi! Hoosier_guy <--- weirdo!
I love PB&J and I love sushi, of course not together but I would think PB&J would be more tolerable for most than sushi! Did you eat the raw stuff or the wimpy stuff like a California roll?

Everything mentioned on this thread seems fairly normal to me.
Except this:
for the first time yesterday I...went to a retirement party and presented the guest of honor with a 3' blow-up doll.
Beg pardon?

Never had a PB&J until I was in my mid 20s. Not overly keen on them. I do like banana, peanut butter and syrup sarnies ... yummy!
My husband was a licensed skydiver and I used to play rugby.
BTW dukester ... Was that the gift for your former Brother-In-Law? Good reaction, bad reaction and did you take the hair with it?
