You may not believe it but for the first time yesterday I.....
Tried a Peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
I love peanut butter sandwiches but the thought of adding jelly well it just didn't work for me.
Well I must of been feeling kinka risky and thought why not. Not to mention I have the kids I teach on Tuesday's try a new food every week, so I needed one for this Tuesday.
Well it wasn't bad at all. I may have to add this to the very limited list foods I eat. (pickey eater here)
So what new thing have you tried that people take for granted ?
Rofl I am already thinking what a few members may post. It doesn't have to be food but lets try keep this a fun PG 13 thread.

Wow, now that you've become a rebel, you'll have to try a peanut butter and jelly pizza from East of Chicago.

Yuck, peanut butter from a jar always reminds me of my days of greatest poverty when that's all I had to eat.
Now fresh ground peanut butter from the deli is a different animal all together. I like it on dense whole wheat bread, preferably made with walnuts, and topped with orange marmalade or honey. Now that's a PB&J.
Speaking of risky, we had a brief thunderstorm here yesterday and I went out at the end of it and burned all of my yard waste while it was still sprinkling. (I live in a rural area) We've had a burn ban in effect for months and there was a year's accumulation of sticks and yard trimmings piling up. I had to dispose of it before I close on my house. Plus, I had two years of mail to burn (3 bags).
Mission accomplished.

I used to eat that ALL the time (but actually without the bread.)
As much as I like peanut butter, I myself am not that big on having it with jelly.
Ellie I got this dramatic mental vision of you out there in the rain, burning stuff.
That's a lot of mail.
As for attempting something new which others consider mundane, how about driving some place solo? I drove 2 hours to Tallahassee by myself (doc apointment), having only been there once before.
I'll flat out admit the truth: Except for the fact that I listen to loud music, I really am kind of a little old lady driver plus my navigational skills are pathetic.
Going to Tally myself was kind of a big deal.
Oh, and everything went fine, even though it was extremely foggy.

I like peanut butter toast and drizzle alittle honey on it.
Haven't done this in a while but used to eat fried bologna and scramble an egg and eat it as a sandwich with mayo.
Also never been a fan of hot dogs or chili dogs but loved the actual chili on the dogs,so I used to order at the dairy isle a cheesburger with the chili sauce. When I ordered it they thought I was strange but it's funny Hardees sells a chili cheesburger so I guess it wasn't so strange after all .
I also put jalepenos on my spaghetti..lol

cil I can understand the driving long distance alone thing.
I remember when I first drove to Fla by myself. Here I was driving a sports car with frank sinatra blaring and me singing along
"the summer wind ....."
my friend told me she was amazed that her Uncle who is 80 never had Iced Tea.

Karla, you would have died of starvation as a child if you had lived at my house. PB & J was lunch 7 days a week.
One thing I have just recently discovered is cream cheese. Not sure how I managed to live to be this old without it.

I don't think I am a picky eater at all, but tend to lean towards the basic meat and potatoes versus Chinese, Mexican, Thai, or other venues that I can't pronounce what I am ordering, nor have a clue what it is. I have never tasted lobster before and it just looks to me like it would be too much effort to crack and dig just to eat. Give me something that I can scoop on a spoon, poke with a fork, or cut with a knife and I am as happy as a sissy in a skirt.
Keeping on topic to avoid having this thread tossed over to the food catagory, You may not believe it but for the first time yesterday I...went to a retirement party and presented the guest of honor with a 3' blow-up doll.
