How hilarious...I am hag to a couple of gay friends...they are such fun and have been such good and supportive, sensitive friends to me over the years...at times being more supportive in times of crises then my own family.

My daughter is 10 and I am now starting to introduce her to the fact that some people are gay, some are lesbian and some are hetero...All are fine. One day she told me that one of her friends called someone else the Q word...thats a word that I don't tolerate...sort of like the N word...I made it clear very quickly that kind of characterization was not appropriate...

She has watched some programs with gay people on them with me and when I explained the extreme prejudice that these people are treated with, she almost cried.

We're all just people...the differences are what makes life more interesting...
