Don't even worry about it! Whoever was offended by something like that is probably one of the same people who gets offended by the word "God" in our Pledge, or by the phrase "Merry Christmas".
There is nothing wrong with the word you used.

I'm still kind of taken aback that someone thinks using the appropriate term you mention is disgusting AND shocked that it was a man...How odd. Sounds like whoever it is, has a problem with sexuality...
My grandmother who was born in 1898 called it a tallywhacker...sounds like a new kind of garden implement...
I think what you call it depends on what your doing with it, clearly if your teaching your young son to pee in the toilet bowl then your terminology would maybe be more clinical then in intimate moments when Big Ed might be more appropriate....LOL@big Ed...just curious where the Ed came from??
