Default Hot time yesterday

Hey, Folks. Keep my step daughter and her family in your prayers. Their garage burned to the ground yesterday (Sunday). Don't know what started it and fire marshall looked around and ruled it accidental. They are 10 miles from the nearest town and had 2 volunteer fire departments working on it. It wouldn't have mattered if it had been right next door to a fire department. They heard a dog barking and looked outside to find it fully engulfed. Matt lost every bit of his personal belongings. His very first rod and reel he ever had, a lot of his military awards, all his army equipment and a bag of coins. You military friends know what being coined means and these were all he had received including a presidential coin. They bought this place last May, you probably remember me talking about it. 2 weeks later they bought a brand new Kubota tractor with a bush hog and a front bucket. All that is gone. Their son's dirt bike and 2 4-wheelers are gone too. We had a little loss too. I borrowed his truck earlier in the day and left our car (2002 Mercury Gran Marquis) parked about 5 ft. from the garage...and took the key with me! Neighbor pulled it out of the way with his tractor. We're all thankful everybody is OK and nobody was hurt. They have insurance and will be calling them first thing in the morning. To show how he tried to keep a sense of humor about it, he told us after the firetrucks left that he really felt bad. When we asked why, he said all those firefighters were out there and they didn't have any hot dogs or marshmallows for them! lol

I am so sorry to hear this
Of course we will keep them in our thoughts

Once things settle down the Military may be able to replace the medals and once they sort trough the rubble he may find the coins survived the fire

Its a heart-sinking feeling to lose personal things, Ive been there and can totally relate. Thankfully no one was hurt and about half the time, with fires, people arent even home or are asleep and dont even know it till its too late.
Sending our prayers out your direction.

Sorry to hear this, fires are devastating and losing personal items that hold memories is hard. Will keep you family in my prayers.
