Default Who else is not on Facebook?

Yes, I don't have a Facebook account. It seems like so many of my coworkers, friends, and relatives are on Facebook. I keep getting constant invitations to join Facebook. I feel like some dinosaur for holding out on Facebook but I just don't want to join the bandwagon simply because everyone else is doing it.

I spend way too much time online as it is. I don't need to get involved in another online activity that will take up my time. Besides who really cares what I'm doing on any given day, and why do I care about the minutiae in other peoples lives like "Anne is doing her tax returns."

I also don't want people who are barely acquainted with me to become online friends. It seems to blur the line between someone who is a real friend and someone who is just a person you know casually.

If I want to send people photos, I email it to them. I can also call and email folks.
I'm also very private by nature so most likely that's why I'm holding out.

Tell me there are others like me...

I'm right there with you. I enjoy posting here but the purely "social networking" sites turn me off. So self indulgent and I especially dislike the feature where they recommend friends or people reach out to you and they have nothing to do with my actual "network" - most of them seem like slutty college girls ...urgh...I'm irritated right now so will leave it at that. You are not alone!

Never been a fan of Facebook or Myspace either. I signed up way back when Myspace came out but never did anything with it. haven't joined Facebook, although have had lots of invites.
I have trouble keeping up with what I do do, let alone to visit umpteen single sites lol.

And I don't Tweet. Too many options these days.

I'm boring I guess lol.

Sorry, I LOVE Facebook! Toosie...I am far from self indulgent or a slutty college gal and none of my "friends" are either. Heck, even my 60 year old aunts have pages now, too. And I only accept friend requests from people I want to keep in touch with.

I love keeping in touch with my extended family and reconnecting with long lost friends. My life is super busy and filled these days (whose isn't??) and for me it takes 2 seconds to send an "I love you" or "thinking of you today"!!!

Its simple, fun and fantastic!

I have facebook and myspace. Thinking of getting rid of myspace because nobody does much on there. What I like about facebook is I have come in contact with quite a few class mates from my school. Some I hadn't heard from or seen since we graduated.
But I can see where it's not for everybody. Not a thing wrong with not having a facebook or myspace page. To each their own!
