Well, Texas was an independent republic before it became a U.S. state, so it could very well be an ethnic classification.
Yes but I suppose most of the folks in Texas back in the days of the Republic were at first Mexican. The Mexicans made the mistake of not building a wall quick enough at the Sabine and Red Rivers against the influx of all the white colonists seeking cheap land and new homes. It was some of my ancestors who were hiding among those early settlers.
History is not very imaginative and has been shown at times to have a need for redundancy.
I'm of French and Scandinavian descent. I also have a small amount of Native American ancestry.
I'm one-quarter French. I'm almost three-quarters Scandinavian. I have little to almost no knowledge of my very small Native American ancestry. I don't know whether if I'm one-sixteenth or one-twentieth Native American. Heck, the percentage is probably smaller than that too. I don't even know what tribe my Native American ancestors were in.
I'll just say that I'm 3/4 Scandinavian and 1/4 French. Even though my high cheekbones and my long-shaped face most likely came from my Native American heritage, I just identify with my French and Scandinavian ancestry.
Anyway, what's your ethnicity?
just out of curiosity did you do the ancestry test or going by what you were told? my dad finally got the ancestry test and turns out he hasn't got a drop of native american in him which now means the man they thought was his father isn't. one grandmother was near saint status. but dad's mom got around. lol!
Sunburn on an overcast day. Mum was English. Dad's parents were Welsh and Irish. That was considered a mixed marriage at the time.
