Just Found out Roommate Wire Tapping my CPU
Okay, I have known this for a few months, but I live with two IT roommates and one of them has tapped into my computer emails and personal chat conversations with others. I'm wondering is this illegal and if so what legal measures do i need to take to prove this as well as have them both prosecuted?

Well, my guess would be yes, if it is your personal computer to which access is restricted by you. First call the police to see if it is actually a crime, then follow up with a tech savvy attorney who can confirm/correct the police answer and also help you pursue any potential civil action.

if they are your roomates, put some preparation h in thier toothpaste, id get even,
seriously, id confront them, or if i knew they were still doing it, id set them up, tell some tall tales or inferences towards your roomates,, as in you suspect they are having animal sex, or are gay.
if there is more than two roomates,,then say you suspect one is stealing from the other...
make them sick with thier own medicine

Payback is a Biatch!
I'd slam the IT hard and good with a huge dose of payback. Think it through first and get your game plan in order.
Good luck!

OP, I too, would like to know what it is that makes you think your roomies are tapping into your email, etc.

Yeah, I get them too. I always tell them two things: 1. I don't care about their personal information, I see enough of it every day that it becomes so routine I ignore it if I do see it. 2. If they don't trust me perhaps they should call someone else to work on their computers.
I have declined to work for someone because they accused me of looking through their PC for the explicit reason of finding their personal information. I explained to them what I was doing and why I was doing it. 10 minutes later they said it again. I gave them two choices. I could either leave immediately and not charge them or I would finish my work get paid and leave. They had me finish the work. About a month later they called me back and I told them I wouldn't work for someone that didn't rust my digression. They were not happy.
Let the Geek Squad put up with it. I don't have to.
