do you ever feel invisible?
I'm having a bad day, no it's been a bad month by now and I guess today I have had enough. I just feel totally invisible! Let me explain, you know when your in a conversation with someone and they aren't making eye contact with you and they just knod once in awhile barely acknowledging that your talking, or midway through your sentence they get up and walk across the room to do something completely random, or they just start talking about something else all together. Another unfortunate side effect of being invisible happens when you ask someone to help with a task or to do something but for some reason they don't totally listen and then end up doing it all wrong. How about leaving voice mails for someone and they refuse to even call you back or for that matter emails that never get replied to. I just want to be heard and for the people I am talking to to actually listen! I'm sure I can't be the only person out there that feels invisible?

I understand what you mean. I do happen to do that to people sometimes. And also I RARELY make eye contact. I watch mouths when people talk. It's just a force of habit, because of where I work, if I can't hear them well enough chances are I'll be able to read their lips enough to understand it a bit.

Just acknowledging me makes me feel less invisible. Thanks.

To noplace
Ok, girl ( hope I guessed right) sorry you are having an invisible day. Today was one of those days that I wish I was invisible. I was rushing around in Wal-mart with my grandson today. I was very busy. He is a very small for 9 years old. I saw a line with only one customer in it halfway across the store so I grabbed his arm and said hurry up, lets get out of here. I heard someone holler at me to come back. No way honey, this was a once in a lifetime chance to rush through a line at Walmart! My kid was dragging his feet...I gave a quick look at him and it wasn't my kid! I wished I was invisible when the real parent/grandparent rushed me. Fortunately we understood each other and got a laugh out of it. Can you imagine the outcome if I had been a man?

Well at least you didn't drive off and forget he was with you! (no I've never done that!)

One time we went fishing (invisible fishing to stay on the subject) in South Carolina. I was setting up camp while my husband and the four young kids went to find a bait shop. They found one, everyone went in, got what they needed and returned to the car. "Everyone here" shouts my husband, as he starts the car. " We're all here, lets go!"kids shout back...Seven miles back in camp and I discover the 3 year old is missing. Yeah, they left her at the bait shop!! My husband wished he was invisible for a few days

NoplacelikeWa....all of us have those days. Sometimes I feel that way about my husband -- like I'm talking to the wall or something! My dad used to have this saying about people who don't pay attention: You have to treat them like a mule--knock them in the head first, get their attention, then talk to them! (Ok, I wouldn't advise that exactly but thinking about it may make you feel better!)
And believe it or not I left one of my sweet little girls at church one Sunday! We were a mile or so down the road and I started a head count and found her missing. Went back and she was up on the podium -- guess if she'd been big enough, she'd have been preaching!

I can see where it could be handy to actually be invisible and it does lighten the mood. My invisiblility has been just building up lately, unfortunately at this point I am getting that "why bother" attitude but thanks for trying.
