Thank you, Suncoast Guy, for being our Sunday stand-in! We're glad you're here, and I know that Karla appreciates the break.

Today's Question(s):

The “Shopping Spree Fairy” is paying you a visit today! She is coming to give you a unlimited shopping spree to any one store you want.

At what store will you be enjoying your shopping spree?

Hoo-boy, Ms. Shopping Spree Fairy must have hit the lottery if she can afford unlimited shopping! I can do a LOT of damage under the right circumstances.

As for where I'd indulge myself, I'd be tempted to reply "at a realtor's office," but I know that's not really quite what is intended. So instead I'll have my shopping spree at a home remodeling store, as long as "shopping" can be defined as hiring the work done as well.

Anything special you plan to get there?

Kitchen sink, countertops and cabinets that aren't 61 years old, bathroom sink, toilet and cabinets that aren't 61 years old, new flooring (hardwoods in living room, hall & bedrooms, high-quality vinyl in kitchen & bath), a furnace that isn't 38 years old, and stairs that aren't so steep & narrow that they're like a ladder. Not much, really....

Bonus Question:

Have you ever returned an item to a store for a refund after having used it?

No; in fact, I seldom if ever return an item to a store at all. I am not much of a shopper (the previous response notwithstanding) and if I get to the point of actually shelling out money for something, it's generally because I like/want it enough to keep it.

Extra Credit Question:
In honor of “National Compliment Day”:

Is there a poster here on City-Data that you would like to give a compliment to?

I'd really like to compliment Karla with a K for her energetic hostessing of the QOTD threads; her humor and conversational skills gather an incredibly eclectic assortment of participants here each day, and despite widely varying interests, beliefs, life stages and prosperity levels, everyone plays nicely around her table. That is a rare skill, and we are lucky to have her here!

Just for Fun:

When was the last time you wanted to tell somebody... “Just do it!”?

That happened today when we were driving to La Crosse to see our son. I took the wheel for the trip over, and at about Mauston, some flaming idjit was trying to get up his nerve to pass me for the loooooongest time. He kept hanging in my blind spot, not passing and not dropping back, and even when I eased off a bit on the cruise control to make it easier, he couldn't seem to muster up the courage to go past. It wasn't until a huge SUV came roaring up behind him at about 85 mph that he finally managed to get around me.
