I had a pretty good day. I went to the doctor and got a semi good report, so I am not complaining. However, this evening feels so cold and lonely and I miss my mother so much I can hardly breath. I miss my friends that are far away and I miss not having a group of people beyond my sons that I belong to. Well so much for feeling sorry for myself. I will feel better after visiting with my friends in cd land

Christmas day started off pretty good, but it was not with out an upset in the menu. The day got better as it progressed: I am estranged from all extended family and that makes the holidays a bit of a challenge. However, this year 2 families invited us over to spend Christmas with them so we did. We had brunch with one family and dinner with another. My best friends' mother hugged till I knew I had been hugged. She said she wanted me have a mother's hug because her hands were empty. It was the best present I received. I think family is where u make it. Sorta like home
Santa was good to me too. I got some black cowboy boots, an electric pressure cooker and some bling- My youngest son got me a Betsy Johnson oversized emerald ring surrounded by diamonds. He told me they are fake of course, (no surprise their) but they come with the promise of genuine stones when he is a big NBA star. I love that kid... What more can a gal ask for.LoL
I hope some of u will tell about your Christmas day and night too.

Wind kept waking me up through the night, still have gale force winds and rain. Was gorgeous on Saturday (think Friday too), then yesterday complete turn around. I'm hoping my little house doesn't blow down the hill. Thank God I made my coffee in time last night and filled up Shredder's water bowl (had just enough left in the tap for him this morning), because somethings up with the main water pump for town water so it's off now (i.e. no water).

thanks SQ - yes, it came back on. They're good about fixing things pretty quick. But weird, weird weather lately - just today rain, then sun, then rain and such strong gusts of wind one almost blew me off my feet when I went outside today. Raining now, but not as bad as before though gusts of wind still strong. The Shredmeister is fine except now "he" thinks it's time to go to bed I will ignore him until he turns into a demon and I can't stand it any longer - first we have parents telling us what to do, then our kids, then our animals. When will it end LOL

Joy u r so right. Our pets become our masters kinda. They drive what we do. We can't go on a family vacation because someone has to be left here to see after the dogs. The oldest can't stand leaving the backyard unless it is to come in and he only does that for short periods of time. He is not into strangers at all and the two little "mafia" dogs are too dangerous to allow someone else to come in and take care of them and no way they would go peacefully to a pet motel. I can't stand the dogs, but I love all of em and they're family so their needs are important to any decision.
I had a pretty good night and today I am sporting red and a smile, so I am sure tonight will be good... I think

Gosh where to start... my day was typical, but a nightmare from the previous night nagged at me until now. I think it is why I can't sleep; plus I have a headache. All that being said I thank God for the joy in spite of it all. I am hopeful

My evening was an absolute riot! I hosted pinochle club at my house. The gal-pals and I had such a great time! I made us a fabulous dinner (if I do say so myself!), and we played cards and talked and laughed ourselves silly. It was one of those nights where everything made us laugh. Very therapeutic! I've been playing pinochle on a regular basis with the same girls (5 of us in all) since 1976! What a blast!
Good to see you back, sun queen!
