Today in History:
1802 - U.S. Academy at West Point founded
1871 - The state of Delaware, the first state to enter the union, enacted the first fertilizer law. No BS?
1912 - Mrs. William Howard Taft plants 1st cherry tree in Washington D.C
1915 - The Federal Trade Commission began operation. The U.S. government appointed five commissioners to receive $10,000 each year to regulate commerce and prohibit unlawful trade. That was big money in 1915.
1963 - Peter, Paul and Mary released the single, "Puff The Magic Dragon". Through the years, controversy continually surrounded the song. It was banned by several radio stations whose management figured that the song was about the elicit joys of smoking marijuana. The group denied this startling assumption. “It’s about a magic dragon named Puff,” they said Conspiracy theory!!!
1987 - "Bostonia" magazine printed an English translation of Albert Einstein’s last high school report card. The brain behind the theory of relativity did relatively well with an ‘A’ in math, but a ‘D’ in French. So? He wasn't good with foreign languages.

Any St. Patrick's Day plans?
No big ones, but I will wear green.

Corn beef and cabbage?
We ate it last year for the first time in our lives at Humperdinks. We
both liked it. Probably won't eat it tomorrow though.

Best subject in school?
English

Worst?
math of any type

When was the last time I was a pest?
with doctor's office last week. Big mix up and I kept on calling them till it was straightened out. I hate to be a pest/pain...but I will if necessary

Shorts and T-shirts weather?
Some people think they can wear them all year in Dallas...even when it's freezing outside! However, real shorts and t-shirts weather will probably not arrive until April or May.

Today's Question(s):

Tomorrow is St Patricks Day

Do you have any special plans ?

Looks like I have to work.

Will you wear something green ?
I do not have anything green with me. Maybe I will buy something tonight.

Any of our QOTD family planing on making or eating Corn Beef & Cabbage ?
If the opportunity presents it's self I will eat some. Not in a place where I can cook some.

Bonus Question

When you were in school

What subject did you do get the best grade in ?

Pick a subject, any subject. All the way thru high school I got nothing but A's and B's. College is a different story.

Which subject "not so much" ?
That would be a couple classes in college. I had no use for Sociology and my grade reflected my real lack of interest in the class. If I had missed one more question on the final I would have had to retake the class.

Extra Credit Question:

OK fess up

When was the last time you were a "pest" about something ?
My job requires me to be a pest every day.

Just for Fun:

How long till you will be experiencing "shorts & T-shirt " weather ?

Maybe next month

Today's Question(s):

Tomorrow is St Patricks Day

Do you have any special plans ? Hmmm, does taking Pebbles to the Vet for spaying count????? Otherwise, no.

Will you wear something green ? Yes, yes, yes. One of our sons attended U. of MO. and the students really knew how to celebrate St. Pats. Green sweatshirts and all. We have about 10 of them from over the years. Love 'em. Also the parades in the town's downtown section.
Any of our QOTD family planing on making or eating Corn Beef & Cabbage ?
Hope to if I can find some good corned beef in one of these little burgs around here.
Bonus Question
When you were in school
What subject did you do get the best grade in ? Straight 'A's' in all subjects except penmanship. Teacher said I wrote too small. Then later not as good in math. Hmmm, and here I was an accountant in later life! lol....
Which subject "not so much" ? And then Science turned out to be not as good, since I missed many days when my mom was sick and I stayed home to take care of family while dad worked. And I really liked science.
Extra Credit Question: [/u]
OK fess up
When was the last time you were a "pest" about something ? Don't have time to be a real pest. Ha.
Just for Fun:
How long till you will be experiencing "shorts & T-shirt " weather ?
This old gal gave up wearing those many years ago. You wouldn't want to see that.
