I can talk on the phone while playing computer solitaire, but that's about it. If I am engaged in an activity that requires the use of language - writing, reading, speaking - I can't do multiple things simultaneously.

Bonus Question:

How soon after you get up do you turn your computer on?

I turn the laptop at home on maybe an hour and a half or so after I get up. I fire up the work computer about three hours after arising.

Do you leave your computer on all day?

Yes to the work computer, no to the laptop at home.

What time of the day do you turn your computer off?

I shut down the work computer when I leave for the day, which can be anywhere from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. depending on what time of month and year it is. I shut down the laptop when I go to bed, typically 11:00 or thereabouts.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the last thing or person that really tested your patience?

Would you like that list alphabetically or chronologically?? I think the last one was a member of the all-volunteer committee that helps to plan and put on the major convention I work on each year. We had another planning meeting on Sunday, and there is one individual who complains about absolutely EVERYTHING, but who flat-out refuses to make any changes that would improve the things she complains about. By the end of the meeting, I just wanted to smack her.

Just for Fun:

When you go to the grocery store
Do you bag your own groceries?

I bag my groceries when I shop at the Willy Street Co-op. When I'm at one of the other grocery stores in town, I'll usually let the employees bag my purchases.

Do you prefer paper, plastic or the reusable cloth bags?
We've used the reusable canvas bags for about 15 years now. We really used to get some odd looks way back when we first got them. I think the one that amused me the most was the extremely conscientious fellow at a store in Texas who loaded up all our groceries in the canvas bags, then carefully placed each one of the canvas bags in one of the store's plastic bags. Ummm, can you say "unclear on the concept?"

Sort the groceries as you put them on the belt?
Not really, aside from trying to make sure that the bread isn't under the kitty litter.

Have you ever let anyone with 1 or 2 items go ahead of you?
Oh, sure, all the time.

Talk on phone
Surf the net
Read email
Send email
Read a book
Have a conversation
Watch TV

I can do just about all of the above at the same time. The one exception would be read a book. However, if I am having a conversation wih someone I usually stop doing other things while the conversation is going on.

Bonus Question:

How soon after you get up do you turn your computer on ?
Usually first thing when I get up.

Do you leave your computer on all day ?
No

What time of the day do you turn your computer off ?
Whenever I am done for the time being.

Extra Credit Question:

What was the last thing or person that really tested your patience ?
That would be the requirements of one of our biggest customers. They can change faster than we can be updated on. Often by the time we are aware of the change, it has already changed again.

Just for Fun:

When you go to the grocery store
Do you bag your own groceries ?
Do you prefer paper, plastic or the reusable cloth bags ?
Sort the groceries as you put them on the belt ?

I do not bag my own groceries. Plastic bags are fine with me. I tend to reuse them around the house or car. Lastly, I do not sort anything while placing on the belt.

Have you ever let anyone with 1 or 2 items go ahead of you ?
I am usually the person with one or two items. However, on the rare occasion I have had several items, I have been known to let others go ahead of me.

Lets find out about multi-tasking

How many of the following can or have you done at the same time:
Talk on phone I don't do that very often but I have been Online while talking on the phone. Usually checking on something for the person on the phone.

Surf the net I'm pretty dedicated to just doing that, lol...unless I'm eating or drinking.

Read email Only that.

Send email Only that.

I will read and watch TV at the same time and talk during commercials

How soon after you get up do you turn your computer on ? Two minutes I put the coffee on, feed the dog, and turn it on.

Do you leave your computer on all day ? No.

What time of the day do you turn your computer off ? It's turned off whenever it's not being used.

What was the last thing or person that really tested your patience ? An idiot on CD the other day....not you guys

When you go to the grocery store
Do you bag your own groceries ? Most of the time I bag my own. I'm a little picky. The cold food should be together.

Do you prefer paper, plastic or the reusable cloth bags ? If DH is with me I get plastic and re use the bags in the house. If I'm alone I use my reusable bags.

Sort the groceries as you put them on the belt ? Again, if I'm alone I do. If DH is with me he just throws everything on the belt which drives me crazy, lol.

Have you ever let anyone with 1 or 2 items go ahead of you ? Yes, and I help people locate things and reach things all the time.

National Glazed-Spiral Ham Day
Tax Day
Take A Wild Guess Day
Big Mac Day I used to love those.

Husband Appreciation Day I appreciate him every day. I don't need a special day for that. He's my best bud
