Today's Question(s):
In Honor of Picnic Day

Priscilla the Picnic Fairy is stopping by

What "yummys" do you want to find when you open the Picnic Basket she will be dropping off at your home
? Cheese, ice tea, burgers, devil eggs, a few slices of cheese Cake.

Please Priscilla do not include
peas in my basket ?

When was the last time you had a picnic ?
Last summer Mrs. Cncracer and I went to lake Jordan with our two fur kids (Dogs) and had a picnic.

Bonus Question:

Ladies: when was the last time you bought a new purse ?
I am not a lady, but I got one for Mrs. Cncracer for Xmas a few years back.

Men: when was the last time you bought a new wallet ?
last year, my old one got washed, and never recovered it shape.

Both: when was the last time you cleaned out the above mentioned purse or wallet ?
I clean it out about twice a month. Need the receipts to do expense reports, and like to keep it as thin as possible.

Extra Credit Question:

Ok I will confess my (
I plead the 5th, anything I say will have Mrs. Cncracer directing me to clean up my tatterdemalion this weekend) is pretty tatterdemalion.

Just for Fun:

Last thing that had you saying " That wasn't as hard/difficult as I thought it would be ?
It would be my run this morning, after trying a new workout program two days ago I didn’t think I would be able to hit my mileage goal. I still hurt from the new workout program.

Today in History:
1954 - Hank Aaron hit his first major-league home run on this day.
1962 - New York Mets win their 1st game ever
1963 - Pete Rose got his first hit in the major leagues
1985 - The Coca-Cola Company made a showy, glitzy announcement that it was changing its 99-year-old secret formula. Fans of the original Coke were instrumental in bringing Classic Coke back. They didn’t buy the new Coke and it turned out to be one of the biggest corporate flops ever.
1992 - McDonald's opens its 1st fast-food restaurant in China

Word of the Day:

tatterdemalion \tatt-er-dih-MAIL-yun\ adj
1 : ragged or disreputable in appearance
2 : being in a decayed state or condition : dilapidated:
I feel that way some times, seems to come with the miles we put on our body.

Today is:
National Picnic Day:
We are going on one this weekend with our neighbors to the Gardens in Durham. It should be fun.
Electric Mixer Day
International Sing Out Day:
I am not so cruel as to expose people to that sort of noise, or am I?
Fire Drill Day:
Wonder what they would do if you pulled the fire alarm when you are suppose to be working?
Talk Like Shakespeare Day:
To be or not to be working (like I should be) LOL. Back to the salt mine for me.

Maybe that's because it is Shakespeare's birthday (and the day on which he died) today.

I've been at work, where he first performed As You Like It.

I thought on the east coast y'all called it soda in the midwest we call it pop. At least that is what my SIL has told me for 30+ years she is from Philly.

OK if ya asked her then she told ya what she wanted that is a big hint she wants to go on a picnic stude.

Looks like some chickens better get busy awful lot of deviled eggs wanted for the picnics. Of course the lazy chickens will be supplying the fried chicken if they choose not to lay eggs.

Alas, but retired or not, English teacher wot I am, I knew this. . .

Too funny, but every Spring, when I would teach Shakespeare's sonnets, and read Romeo and Juliet with the ninth graders, I would lapse quite easily into Shakepeare-ese. In honor of his birthday, the students who used language from our course of study -- his works -- would get bonus points.

Just as an aside, there is no record of Shakespeare's birth -- only the record of his christening on April 26, and because he did die on April 23, it was considered just too neat not to recognize it as his birthdate, too. Generally, infants were christened on the third day following their births, so it made sense that Shakespeare may have been born April 23.

The kids always thought it a bummer: dying on your birthday.

Isn't April 23 also St. George's Day? St. George is the patron saint of England, isn't he? Made it even neat-er to think ole Shakey-Baby was born on St. George's Day, too.

How cool for you, Jezer, to be there! One day, I'll get across the pond.

I am not really sure what day of the week it is. Over the past 2 days I have spent 32 hours flying. That does not count loading and unloading the aircraft. Things are winding down in Spain so I am headed to Germany in a day or so for my next great adventure.

Cheese...Lots of cheese.

Please Priscilla do not include anything that resembles airline food in my basket ?

When was the last time you had a picnic ?
Has been years. Several years ago I was on vacation and was driving I-70 in Utah. I stopped at a really nice rest stop. It was kinda out of the way and no one else was there so I decided I would have lunch there. I got everything out of the car and started putting lunch together when a van pulled up alongside. The driver got out and proceeded to let the passengers out. They were all in chains and handcuffs. Turns out it was a prisoner transport. Needless to say I loaded up the car and headed out. Mighty short picnic.

Bonus Question:

Ladies: when was the last time you bought a new purse ?

Men: when was the last time you bought a new wallet ?
Several years ago

Both: when was the last time you cleaned out the above mentioned purse or wallet ?

Last thing that had you saying " That wasn't as hard/difficult as I thought it would be ?
I have not said that as of late. Every time I do say it, something goes wrong later on.
