Turning 30 didn't bother me at all. This year though, I turn the big 40 and it's buggin me. I have been told I still look 33, so that's a plus.

I just turned 29 last month....I'm still in shock and denial about my age.

Honestly, I feel like I'm 20, 21, 22. Mentally, when I wake up in the morning, it seems like my early 20's, with this sense of discovery, going out, this whole 20's culture. Where you're still not really an adult....yet!! Thankfully, I can still pass for 21, 22 easily.

I think the "old rules" are long gone. It's a very different world now.

-There's more distractions than there were 20, 30, 40 years ago (especially if you live in a big city).

-There's more things to do, more options career wise.

-Four years of college, straight out of highschool is long gone. I think the average number of years in college now is 5, 6, 6 1/2. Alot of people have to work to pay those gigantic college bills.

-There's no big urgent need to settle down early. The family doesn't need you to settle down and produce more workers for the family farm.

-And people living longer. If the retirement age has gone up, and people live longer, wouldn't you naturally extend "childhood", "early adulthood" out?

It's not an excuse to slack off or anything..but definitely, 30 is about 20 now. That means I'm still 19

I think the old saying if you never slow down you never grow old works. Im 33 and i feel like im 16. My oldest daughter is 11 and I feel like having children young was gr8 for all of us. My parents were the same age when they had me and my sister, but def acted much older and way more mature than my wife and I act. my dad never went to the gym, swam, or did any of the stuff I do with my kids, actually none of the people his age then did when he was 30. I was in the backyard yesterday building a ramp for my bicycle..maybe im more like 13-lol.

I'm 30 now and I do like to say that 30 is the new 20. I sometimes think about my age and I think, "Wow, I'm an adult. I'm old." I had always pictured 30 somethings to be much older. However, everyone thinks I look 23 or 24, so that's good! I think I'm at a good age--responsible enough to have a career, own houses, and I'm financially stable. But at the same time, I'm young enough that I don't look or act old! I feel more like I'm in my 20s than 30s.

I personally think a much bigger differentiator is whether one is single or married with kids.

I hear a lot of people say that when they were teenagers they thought 30 was old. But when I was a teenager I never thought that. Maybe its because I was the youngest of 5 children, and my oldest sibling is 19 years older than me, and I saw how youthful they still appeared to be long after 30.

I guess that makes a difference.

I never thought of 30 as old, just as very grown up.

Old is 70.

Heck my neighbor is 86 and he walks a mile one way, to check his mail every other day. 70 is only as old as you let it get. Just gotta get off your rocker and get a life. Old is merely a mindset.

My daughter who turned 31 this year is finally just starting to feel older than her 20 something friends and fiance. Also her biological clock is ticking. I am 54 and no way do I act it. I am way immature for my age. Other people my age look older and act and dress a lot older. People age quicker here in NC. The best thing about being older is the wisdom and the truth and knowing that you can do anything and accomplish anything and it's never too late... I'm a dork and a fun person and that will never change!!

Really 70 is not old, I use to think so but not now. Heck that is less than 20 years for me and I better get there healthy....
