Have you ever participated in a May Day celebration ?
I really don't recall.

Did you ever do anything special on May Day when you were little ?
Not that I can remember.

Bonus Question :

What do you absolutely have to get done today ?
Not gonna do anything, the Doc wants me to stay off my feet until an infection clears up in my leg.

What would you rather be doing today ?
I need to do some yard work. Where's that darned fairy when you need him

Extra Credit Question:

Are there any left-overs hanging out in your fridge ?
Even after The Super Chief cleared out the fridge I'm sure there is still something in there.

and they would be ?
I know there is part of a sandwich I couldn't finish in there.

Did you know or did you have to go look ?
I knew.

Just for Fun:

What were your favorite comic books when you were younger ?
Superman, Captain Marvel, any of the action comics.

Do any of our QOTD family still have any of their comic books from where they were younger ?
Nope, all gone.

Extra Added Question:
(thanks BigMike50 )

Will any of our QOTD family be watching the Kentucky Derby today?
Not unless I stumble across it while channel surfing.

May Day has been a traditional holiday celebration since ancient times. On this day, spring festivals and Maypoles are common. The Maypole is a tall pole that is covered with streamers, flowers and other decorations of spring. People grab hold of a streamer and dance around the pole to ward off ol' man Winter for good.

So of course you know what I am going to ask for the first of

Today's Question(s):

Have you ever participated in a May Day celebration ? No, but my brother did, (and I think my sister did, too). We moved and I started the new school in 2nd grade. The first graders did it, so I had just misssed it. It was so pretty....they set up poles and there were many long, cloth streamers and each kid would get one and dance around and try to 'weave' it onto the pole.....(kind of an Easter basket weave).....some would mess up, but it was still cute.... Seems like they did it to music..I can still see those old, grayish record players..... Darling little first grade 'fairies'...(future devils in disguise is what they really were!)

Did you ever do anything special on May Day when you were little ? We made little construction paper baskets and brought in small flowers, (or maybe we made construction paper flowers, I can't recall), and snuck over to other classrooms, knocked hard on their doors and then ran. The point was for the classes to get a gift from us and not know who it was from......

Bonus Question :

What do you absolutely have to get done today ? Laundry. Doing it right now....

What would you rather be doing today ? We were supposed to go away for the weekend, possibly up to Santa Barbara, but we had a huge flood in our house and it has been very expensive to repair......I hope the last repair guy is done today...I am so sick of having guys in my house.....this has gone on for 3 weeks.....$$$

After the guy leaves, I swear, I am going to the Y to work out! Late last night I took a walk down at the harbor, so at least I got in a little bit of exercise......

Extra Credit Question:

Are there any left-overs hanging out in your fridge ? Always!

and they would be ? Pasgetti I hadn't made it for a year and it's been delicious! Hey, the longer I eat leftovers, the longer it is before I have to cook again.......but the bad thing is that nobody is wanting it but me and then they resort to frozen Lean Cuisine pizzas or junk food.....sigh.... The guilt has gotten to me.....I'll give in and we'll bbq hamburgers tonight.....

Did you know or did you have to go look ? I know.

Just for Fun:

What were your favorite comic books when you were younger ? Little Lulu
I wish I still had them.....I am sure they'd be worth $

Do any of our QOTD family still have any of their comic books from where they were younger ? See above...

Extra Added Question:
(thanks BigMike50 )

Will any of our QOTD family be watching the Kentucky Derby today?
Nope.

I have never done anything special because it is May. I remember reading about people doing things though. I absolutely have to get through the rest of the day without falling down to the ground with my head hanging in deep sorrow metaphorically speaking of course. I would rather be surfing on some sweet island with lots of unmarried honest men who r not into games and totally hott 4 me. No leftovers I know without looking. I loved super hero comics, but I don't have any from back then. Well yall have a great Saturday night.
