Today's Question(s):
Do any of our QOTD family have any fun or exciting plans for this weekend ? This weekend my wife is recovering from a surgery procedure today. The fun part will be watching her get better.
ok how about any "boring but necessary plans" ? I will have to watch the dogs, clean the house, and catch up with a weeks backlog of Paper work.
Bonus Question:
In Honor of Star Wars Day
How many have seen all the Stars Wars Movies ?
4,5,6 then 1,2,3 I think we have seen them all, just don’t keep track.
If not how many have you seen ?
Did you first see them in a theater or on DVD. Most on a DVD, but I think the first might have been in theater.
Extra Credit Question:
When does school end for the year in your City or Town ? The end of may or first part of June. Not sure how they will makeup for the snow days.
Back when you were in school, did you go back before or after Labor Day ? After Labor Day, coming from a farming State the theory was to wait till after the crops were in so the kids could help with the harvest. Not living on a farm I was always grateful for their sacrifice.
Just for Fun:
What item in your home or office could use a little spray of WD40 ? I use it a lot, so not much is in need of a squirt. We were laughing yesterday about WD40 and what we used it for. I noted it always makes me think about duck hunting. Several spray it on their hands to help with joint pain.
What was the last "Adult Beverage" you enjoyed ? Been so long I don’t remember, I suspect a glass of red wine.
Today in History:
1787 - Delegates gather in Philadelphia to draw up U.S. constitution
1796 - 1st smallpox inoculation administered, by Edward Jenner
1862 - Adolphe Nicole of Switzerland patented the chronograph -- a timepiece that allows for split-second timing of sporting events.
1904 - The Olympic Games opened in St. Louis, MO. It marked the first time that the games were held in the United States.
1908 - 1st passenger flight in an airplane
1932 - "We Want Beer!" parade in New York
1973 - Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, last airs on NBC-TV
1998 - Last episode of Seinfeld on NBC, commercials are $2 million each

Today's Question(s):
Do any of our QOTD family have any fun or exciting plans for this weekend ? Exciting, no. Fun, sorta. I'm still waiting for warmer weather so I can put out my veggies and flowers that have been patiently waiting to go into the ground.
ok how about any "boring but necessary plans" ? Maybe....just MAYBE....I'll get out the vacuum and clean house.
Bonus Question:
In Honor of Star Wars Day
How many have seen all the Stars Wars Movies ?
4,5,6 then 1,2,3
If not how many have you seen ? 3 I think. Hard to remember since I'm not a big fan.
Did you first see them in a theater or on DVD #1 in theater. Rest on TV.
Extra Credit Question:
When does school end for the year in your City or Town ? next week
Back when you were in school, did you go back before or after Labor Day ? I can't remember that far back.
Just for Fun:
What item in your home or office could use a little spray of WD40 ? my joints
What was the last "Adult Beverage" you enjoyed ? a glass of Grand Marnier
Today in History:
1787 - Delegates gather in Philadelphia to draw up U.S. constitution and they are probably all weeping in Heaven at what has happened to it over the past 75 years.
1796 - 1st smallpox inoculation administered, by Edward Jenner and a centuries long scourge eliminated from the globe
1862 - Adolphe Nicole of Switzerland patented the chronograph -- a timepiece that allows for split-second timing of sporting events. I rarely see any of the old stop watches any more. They are digital today.
1904 - The Olympic Games opened in St. Louis, MO. It marked the first time that the games were held in the United States. And now they are political pageantry.
1908 - 1st passenger flight in an airplane Wow, that long ago???
1932 - "We Want Beer!" parade in New York And they got it a few years late when Prohibition was repealed.
1973 - Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, last airs on NBC-TV a classic show.
1998 - Last episode of Seinfeld on NBC, commercials are $2 million each
Word of the Day:
foofaraw \FOO-fuh-raw\ , noun:
1. Excessive or flashy ornamentation or decoration. The women in Saudi Arabia dress this way for their private parties--overreaction to the black coverings ("abaya" in Saudi) and veils they must wear in public. Most people here would not believe the excessive ornamentation of the private dress of women in that country. We called it "Saudi Gaudy".
2. A fuss over a matter of little importance. Making mountains out of molehills.
Today is:
National Buttermilk Biscuit Day Mmmmmm.....love biscuits smothered in butter and syrup.
Marshmallow Fluff
Star Wars Day
National Dance Like A Chicken Day The Chicken Dance!! Actually, it's fun...sort of like the YMCA dance.
Squeaky Day squeak, squeak.....I need to oil my joints.
Crazy Day "Craaaazeeee.......crazy for feeling this way......" A classic song.

Today's Question(s):
Do any of our QOTD family have any fun or exciting plans for this weekend ?
My parents are flying down tomorrow to stay for several days. I don't know if I would use the word exciting. lol
I really am looking forward to seeing them though.
ok how about any "boring but necessary plans" ?
Bonus Question:
In Honor of Star Wars Day Is it really? Cool! My son will love this.
How many have seen all the Stars Wars Movies ?
4,5,6 then 1,2,3 I *think* I've seen them all. I liked the first three (4,5,6), but the others had me zoning out. To be fair, it is a rare movie or tv show that I actually like.
If not how many have you seen ?
Did you first see them in a theater or on DVD I do remember seeing the first one (4) in the theater. That was impressive at the time!
Extra Credit Question:
When does school end for the year in your City or Town ?June 9 is the last day of school. How terrible of a mother am I for not wanting summer vacation to arrive?
Back when you were in school, did you go back before or after Labor Day ?
No idea.
Just for Fun:
What item in your home or office could use a little spray of WD40 ?
I just noticed the refrigerator squeaking, of all things! Maybe I'll squirt some in there.
What was the last "Adult Beverage" you enjoyed ? I think it was a glass of Chardonnay about a month ago. I just bought some Shiraz the other day, which is my favorite wine, so I'm looking forward to indulging in that a little bit. I'm a total lightweight, (didn't used to be long ago!) so two glasses is about all I can handle.

For those of you who don’t know, rdslots on the CD site is also Mrs. Cncracer. She had a heart attack last Saturday, and today received a new state of the art pacemaker. When she just saw I was on CD, she asked me to let her friends know why she had not been answering the Question of the Day this week. Prognosis is very good, and we think she will be going home tomorrow, and running races in a few weeks.

Today's Question(s):
Do any of our QOTD family have any fun or exciting plans for this weekend ?
No plans for anything too fun or exciting, no. Just taking it easy, puttering around the house. I might attempt to make a Lime Tart because my lime tree is giving me lots and lots of limes.
ok how about any "boring but necessary plans" ? Yeah, there'll be a bit of that too ... laundry, tidying up, etc.
Bonus Question:
In Honor of Star Wars Day
How many have seen all the Stars Wars Movies ?
4,5,6 then 1,2,3
Not all of them.
If not how many have you seen ? 4, 5 & 6. Kinda not into the whole SciFi thing as much as I was when I was younger which is why I haven't seen the last three.
Did you first see them in a theater or on DVD Theater.
Extra Credit Question:When does school end for the year in your City or Town ? About a week before Christmas.
Back when you were in school, did you go back before or after Labor Day ? When I lived in Perth, school began early February. When I lived in Canada, school started after Labor Day.
Just for Fun:
What item in your home or office could use a little spray of WD40 ? Pruning shears.
What was the last "Adult Beverage" you enjoyed ? A wee tipple of warm brandy this evening. It's getting chilly here in Oz and our houses aren't all that cozy.
