Severe storms approaching so you turn on the Weather Channel and you get them running a "documentary on storms", Al Roker's face or a movie.

Oy. No kidding On the other hand - a static pic of Al Roker's face might be just as accurate as any actual weather forecast they would air!

sometimes the weather channel is annoying. We have a weather radio that alerts us when severe storms are on the horizen in our area.

I don't get the weather channel anymore since I downscaled my cable package. As ridiculous as it sounds, that channel can be a distraction.....I used to find myself watching the same forecast over and over and over just to make sure it hadn't changed!

I depend totally on weatherunderground.com for local weather and Doppler radar reports. Have the page for my zip code bookmarked. Even my granddaughter likes to look at the Doppler radar for our area -- she likes to see it animated so she can see the cloud movements.

Weather Channel without the weather report is like MTV with no music videos!

Al Roker is about as much a weather man as my dog...

About the last thing I want to see when a hurricane is approaching is a bunch of documentaries on bad hurricanes.

I can only imagine how frustrating that must be, but I have not had to do that ever in my life yet because in the Valley of the Sun the weather is typically just hot. A storm would be big news. U know if Lacey is peeved so am I...

It used to be informative and 'the place' for up-to-date info on weather, but really has gone down hill. Good Peeve, Lacey. I only checked it once after I finally got satellite around 2 years ago and boy was I disappointed. I even stopped going to their on-line site, because it just isn't user friendly, especially if one is international.

I, as well, check weatherunderground and acuweather to get info I need without all the garbage, though even they can be off. That's why I like the doplar in motion because then I can see timelines for storms, which way they're moving so I get an idea if we'll be affected. We don't get hurricanes here, but will get a lot of rain if one is say getting ready to hit Costa Rica.
