Why do people wear things they really shouldn't?
I dress for my weight. I can't wear 1/2 tops with low-rider jeans because I will have dunlap (it done lapped over). So I don't wear it.
I, as well as we all, have seen some women wearing...IMO, some things they shouldn't. For example, obviously 20+ pounds overweight, not at all in shape, and they will wear daisy dukes (really short shorts so that cheeks are hanging out) with a belly top....the belly is hanging out and about and over.....and there are tons of women like this!
Do you think that either:
A. they just are that confident and don't care what anyone thinks about them
B. they have given up on themselves and don't care
C. they really think it looks good and sexy to be like that

I've seen quite a few that either don't have a mirror or just don't care and for that... they should be charged with ocular assault! ....LOL

I'm sorry if this is going to make me look like a poor sport or uptight, but this topic has been done to death everywhere and I can't remain silent. Thousands of young women wouldn't have eating disorders if people didn't find fat something to ridicule and be disgusted by. What ever happened to live and let live? If you don't like the way someone looks, don't look. People who are overweight have enough problems; they don't need the world's scorn on top of it. Why is it okay to make fun of someone for being fat, but not for having a different skin color? We tell our kids that people come in all shapes and colors and should be accepted, yet we cloud that message by negatively reacting to larger people trying to dress like their peers.

I think that they must think they look good or just don't care.

I agree, and it's not the first time I have said this...there are some awfully VAIN people here in this message board. If not vain, highly judgemental of others physical appearance.

I'm sorry kirstenleigh, but being a former extremly overweight person (recently lost 50 lbs.) I have to say that although I agree with what you are saying I also don't think that if you are heavy you should dress like someone who is thin. I never did. It bothers me also to see someone wearing a belly shirt when they have a belly that sticks out over the top of their pants. It has nothing to do with making fun of them. It's got to do with having enough respect for yourself to dress for your weight. When I was extremly heavy (I am only 5'2) I dressed to hide my weight and I definately didn't go out of my way to show the world my fat. Why would you do that? Like you say overweight people have enough to deal with without ridicule. So why would you put yourself in a position to invite that ridicule?

Oh, that just ain't right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The ones that really tickle me, are those young girls that wear the low rider pants and the high shirts that show off their pudgy mids.
I just feel as though I should ask them, "so what marsupial family do you belong to?"

i look forward every year ,,,to going to the ocean,,laying out on the beach with a cold one (beer, not a woman) and just enjoying the scenery which is mostly tourists,,, they must figure what happens in maine stays in maine,,,well, some of the images certainly stay,
i particularly like the french-canadiens,,that go to old orchard beach (maine) and,,,i swear the woman have never seen a razor in thier life,, bushes everywhere!!! they could be back up vocals for zztop!!
and gotta love the bikinis on the large woman,,but on the other hand,,,if a woman has lost alot of weight,,and is very proud,,maybe she does want to wear one to feel better,,,and thats alright with me,,
tho i saw one lady two years ago,,,she was ,,huge,,looked like the stay-puff man on ghost-busters but was a woman,,and thru the rolls ,,we didnt even see a bathing suit
the men are just as bad,,,i saw a few french men in speedos,,,big gut hairy,,,,,
i dont get the speedo thing,,,,,wouldnt be caught dead in one,,,may as well wear nothing,,,
