Ottawan's prefer to mount Polar/Grizzly bears; they're really good on gas as opposed to a snowmobile/car for that matter.

When his time is not occupied building igloos, occasionally an Eskimo will ask if you'd like to be piggy-backed into town, though it will cost you. Make sure to come loaded with lots of maple syrup and hockey pucks.

Good luck!

Polar bears......lol
You are joking right ?

Believe it or not-I have been in an igloo and its a very enriching experience but honestly speaking I would rather live in an apartment for major periods of my stay.I am going to algonquin college which is in the more "tropical" city region so that will also play a part

Most villages where people get around in the winter by snowmobiles or summer by ATV's are isolated indian or inuit villages that are 1000 miles north of Ottawa. A rush hour scene in winter in Ottawa

Snowmobiles are mostly recreational. Only people in very rural areas may use them to get around.

Ahh, seriosly? Ottawans get around like anyone in Boston. Cars and mass transit. Parking is expensive so many take busses (hundreds of busses travel the transitway during rush hours, see picture above). I don't think I've ever seen a snowmobile in the city. You are more likely to see a skateboard than a snowmobile, even in the winter.
