I do not agree. Religious teaching and fervour in Ontario Catholic schools in on an upward swing at the moment.

I went to these schools as a child and have nephews and nieces in them at the moment: the schools are much more religious today than they were 20 years ago.

Not saying they are Bible Thumpers or anything but it is not accurate to say there is no religion. They have had conflicts with gay students in recent years, issues with abortion and contraception and some of them even get on the case of their teachers for living in common law relationships.

They also have all kids do sacraments like first communion, confirmation, etc.
