Default I'd like to be Wiccan - Does this fit?

I think I could take Wicca non-literally. Like - magic is a mental placebo affect (have experimented this theory), the Gods are symbolic for the Yin and Yang in Taoism they don't exist but they represent the evil within a person and the good within a person, I don't believe in a soul or afterlife though.

The pantheistic principles of it and "do what thou wilt as long as it harms none" completely fits my Vegetarianism (soon to morph into Veganism when I'm on my own in life), what do you think?

Can a Wiccan be symbolic, not believe in a soul or afterlife, and believe in non-realistic magic?

It doesn't conflict with my beliefs that earth is not important compared to many other parts of the universe, anti-egocentricism in religion, anti-anthropomorphism, and my Existentialism.

A non-literal Wiccan who doesn't believe the earth is important?

Uh, no!

Many aspects of Wicca are nature based, we respect, honor and draw strength from our connection to the earth. At this point in time, based soley on the views you expressed in your post, Wicca isn't for you.

Perhaps you should study several alternate religions before you choose. The path you are meant to walk will find you, just give it time.

Just be a Panthiest.
It is less of a religion than Wicca.
Wicca is quite ritualistic. Thus, it may be that you relate to aspects of Wicca in your own way, but if you are not going to get into the rituals, then why be Wiccan?

Pantheism is easier to 'mold' into a form that an individual can use in life.
While I am not much into labels that express my spirituality, they are helpful to express what I believe in a nutshell.
I am by definition more Panthiest than anything else. However, there are things I believe that are not part of pantheism.
Similar to Christianity, there are several different 'camps' of pantheism but all see the universe as 'god/creator' and that god is in all things.

Wicca is no more "occult" than Christianity is. Frankly, Christianity seems to be the religion with a multitude of demons, not Wicca.

I think that you are on the right track in trying to find something to fit what you believe but what you are over looking in wicca is the core system of belief. we believe that nature if important and the myth of magic that is perpetuated on tv shows like charmed or vampire diaries or secret circle seem to off put people. you may not believe in what you consider magic but in order to truly believe in magick you you have understand what it is. magick is not good nor evil, black nor white. it is grey and controllable and changable depending on the intention of the wielder. some wiccans believe that something like a "prayer" is really nothing more than a spell that affects the world around them. chanting or mediating on something for long enough or focused enough can actually incite change. the natural world is a huge source of strength and the wiccan religion or just the witchcraft lifestyle, religion or not, is a very nature based belief system and should be respected in its practice. I try to live my life by the rede but I am not vegetarian or vegan but I make sure to routinely thank the earth and the mother for her sacrifice for my sustenance. Technically I could be harming something but I am not doing it accidently or with malice. I am doing it for sustenance and recognize the sacrifice the earth has made to my body and I try under all circumstances to be as small on the planet as possible and to appreciate her as much as i can. perhaps a bit more research would lead you down the right path.

I'm glad that I don't live in a "demon-haunted world" as hljc does.

I'm not a Wiccan but an atheist, but I still find much to admire in it.

Do you have ANY idea what the word occult even mean's?

1: not revealed : secret
2: not easily apprehended or understood : abstruse, mysterious
3: hidden from view : concealed
4: of or relating to the occult

Might want to look the word up before you embrass yourself even more.

Back to the OP There are more Pagan paths out there then just Wicca. Many Pagans ( myself include) don't do magick to myself & others we believe it can upset the balance of nature. But it's your choice to do magick or not no matter what path you choose to follow.
