"OK kids! Listen up! You each have five minutes left for anything that has a battery or needs to be plugged in. So finish up. Five minutes!"

There will either be stunned silence here or there will be a big, collective "Awwwwww...!!!!"

"Five minutes. The more you complain the less time you have. Four minutes fourty five seconds, and counting down."

And in five minutes you round up everybody and escort them to the door which you then open up and introduce them to something called fresh air.

Well back when I was a kid we walked five miles to school both ways and we had to talk to people because we didn't have one those horse carriage things and none of these phone devices......

It's called progress. Every generation thinks the next is worse off because of technology. I remember hearing how much worse off my generation was going to be and yet I am quite happy. Do I think that kids should be on their gadgets 24/7 no. But a lot of those gadgets have become a primary form of communication nowadays. You may not like it but its the truth.

Look up the history on the telephone. There were fears we would lose the art of personal communication because of it.

I've got NO problem with technology. None. Love it. Love my computer. Love my Wii.

And I only had to walk 4 miles to school.

But since we've become a nation of rolly-polly slugs because too many people are plopped on the couch on a nice day eating snacks and playing computer games I'd say we have a problem.
