Anorexia and skinny jeans--I don't see the corelation to it. I know someone very near and dear to me who is anorexic and I must say skinny jeans didn't make her do it.

As for little girls wearing skinny jeans I don't have a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is too short skirts without underneath. I find that a lot of stores carry skirts that are way to short and inappropriate for little girls. Back in the day I was not allowed to wear a skirt that was above the knee and if I did my mom sewed on legging shorts to it!

You're younger than me though. Zipper ankles were my sister's fashion---6 years younger.

It's amazing how 6 years can create an entirely different fashion generation for people who are technically in the same generation, age wise.

and it is amazing what six years make in a fashion world. If I am not mistaken, just over six years ago, bell bottoms were the fav "retro" look, and they replaced those hideous (IMHO) elephant leg pants.

Here's an idea people.... if you don't like the style, don't buy it. If you are worried your child will have a bad body image, teach them nutrition. And for goodness sakes, teach your child to be confident in themselves, not clothes or body types!

I have no problems with them for little girls. Like others have said, girls wear leggings, too; what's the difference? They seem like they'd be practical, assuming they're stretchy enough to run around and climb in. There are so many other clothing options out there that do bother me that a girl wearing a pair of close-fitting denim doesn't even register as an issue. It seems like more of an adult issue (projecting adult anxieties onto their kids), rather than the girls themselves.

I honestly don't see a problem with this. Skinny jeans are looser than leggings and I see plenty of little girls wearing those, so unless you have a problem with that, you shouldn't have a problem with skinny jeans.

Honestly, I'm excited that they came out with skinny jeans for little girls. My 6 year old daughter is a STICK. She's a size 6slim around the waist and an 8 for the length. Anyone with tall, thin daughters knows how hard it is to find jeans for these kinds of girls. The skinny jeans will most likely look like regular boot cuts on my daughter, but hey, as long as she can actually find jeans that she doesn't have to pull up every other second, I'm not complaining!
