Once I filled up with gas somewhere on the Virginia shore, and the owner-operator of a little station counted out my change for a 20, even though I had only given him a ten. (Gas was cheap in those days, and people paid with cash.) I gave him back the ten, and he was absolutely dumbfounded that anybody would give it back, instead of just taking it and walking away. I replied "Then, I'm glad I don't live in Virginia."
Good for those boys. It's easy to do the wrong thing but it's not that hard to do the right thing!!
We've also returned a found wallet to a teenage boy who was sooooo glad to get it back because he couldn't drive without his license, lol. And, just the other day DD found a dollar in a parking lot. Chances are no one wold come looking for it but she dropped it in a charity/fundraiser jar when she got inside the store. She told me that just because she found it didn't mean she thought it was hers to keep. Dang, the kids impress me sometimes....I might have bought a coke with the dollar but because of her example I think I'll donate the next dollar I find too.
