Not to mention, I really don't want to have to be responsible for it over winter breaks or if for some reason she won't be able to temporarily. I don't have a good place for a litter box in this house and if I were to touch the cat, it's be all over for me for a few hours.
I hear you. I took in my son's friend's rat earlier in the year. It was a low maintenance pet but it was still a hassle since I was the ONLY ONE who would do anything for it/with it. The little guy died a few weeks ago. It was sad, but I'm glad I was able to be a rescue for him and provide him with a nice life for his last 6 months. I'd probably kill my kids if they brought home a pet without asking permission! LOL

He's an Affenpinscher we think. We got him at a shelter, he was on death row, and I thought he was mutt. Funny story about that. I used to take him to work with me when we first got him, and I'm walking him down Hollywood Blvd and this Beverly Hills Housewife/Starlet slows down in her totally blinged out Escalade and pulls up alongside and shouts "Is that an AFFENPINSCHER"? and I said, "I dunno, is it?" and she goes "MY GOD! It IS!! It IS an Affenpinscher!" and drives of like she has just found the arc of the covenant or something.

So of course I run back to the studio and google Affenpinscher like a crazy woman and I look at my assistant and shout "He is! He IS an Affenpinscher!" And then my husband goes and takes him for a hair cut without asking me and we nearly get divorced.

Upon reflection though, I've decided he's an Affenpinscher mix, because he's too tall and his tail's funny.

jkcoop, your cat looks the spitting image of my older cat.. and we have sibling kittens too. I'll have to find pics of them.

HOPES... where is your basset?

We raised our children believing their father is allergic to cats. I insisted that he never tell them he hated cats. I didn't want him to be a bad influence!

If you're talking about the show on Bravo, I'm embarrassed to admit I used to watch that show before we got rid of paid t.v..... hangs head. I was addicted to all the housewives shows.

I admit it...I was addicted to the first couple of seasons of the NY one and occasionally the ATL one; and I've seen one or two epis of the California ones...never seen NJ or DC ones and haven't watched the NY one since the blow up between..oh...what's their names.....Oh! Bethany and Jill....just got too much for me and swore it off..

That's a cute story to match a cute dog!

He's sprawled out on the sofa to the right of me. His head is practically under my elbow. The lab is curled up on the sofa to the left of me. (both snoring!)

I am a QUEEN with my loyal dogs on each side of me. (The rest of my family went to bed hours ago.)

If you meant pictures, that will have to wait. I have a digital camera, but I need to get that little wire that connects it to my computer to upload the pictures.
