Also there may be times when you want to go an help out in class or watch a class play. I would also suggest that not full time would be good.
Now I know it is not considered politically correct but I think that the woman is the home maker and this means that she needs to spend some time at home doing things like cooking, cleaning, washing. I can not see how families live when both partners work full time. (I just waiting for the knives to come out here). So while I am OK with a mother working. I do not think she should work full time. But whatever work she does, she should do something that she finds stimulating, challenging, interesting and pays well.
Another reason for not full time is when are you going to do girl things like shopping?

Either I work or we would be living on the streets. I don't think its right to generalize by saying women should not work full time.

I want to add to your post. I worked full time for 2 years after my first baby, worked part time for 1 year after my 2nd baby, and have now been home with them for just over 3 years. I've considered (and am still considering) going back to work. Ideally, I would love to find something that is part time, however, those kind of jobs have lower pay, no benefits, and hours that change, which makes child care an issue. It seems to make more sense to work full time where child care needs are the same week to week, I'd get benefits, and make twice as much money per hour.
Part time jobs that pay well and are intellectually stimulating are rare. Really, really rare!
"Girl things like shopping"...??? Are you kidding me?
