First, had this been a 'good friend' of mine I would expect that if they felt comfortable enough to tell me they had been molested then they would also tell me who it was.
Then if they refused to tell me who, then my kids would not have been around ANYONE in their family without my personal supervision. Period.
Also, if they were acting weird and their whole family was acting weird, my kids would not have been around any of them without me either.
Now if they had made accusations and nothing they or their family did seemed to support those accusations, I could see being a little less diligent because it would less likely to be believed.
If I found myself in a situation where my kids had been around someone who had been an accused molester, but never reported and prosecuted, but there was enough to support that accusation in my opinion, then I would have reported it to authorities, friendship be damned.
There is NO friendship/relationship worth keeping to cover up molesting.
