how do they handle irresponsible parents in France? Hope they took the kids away and the parents face jail time. Too often we see this in our country only to learn the parents were out drinking.

Don't be so quick to judge, people! It said the boy was left with his sister. Do we know how old the sister is? I am glad the child is ok.

The Parisian toddler was left alone with his 4-year-old sister in the family apartment in eastern Paris while their parents went for a stroll on Monday, a French holiday.

France handles irresponsible parents the same as our country. Here's what happened to the parents and the children:

Quote:
Following the incident, the child’s parents, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were held in custody at a police station. Yesterday they were charged with causing injury to a child through neglect.

If found guilty, they could face a large fine or a prison sentence.

A police spokesman said: ‘His parents, who were not in the apartment at the time, were arrested soon afterwards and taken into custody.

‘It appears they had popped out [went for a walk] of the flat just before the incident. They have now been charged with neglect leading to injury.’

The boy and his sister are being cared for by other family members and supported by social workers.

Thanks for the info! That wasn't in the original article and I see no need to jump to conclusions.

Thank goodness it was a doctor and not an NFL Football player. He might've spiked the kid after the catch by force of habit. YEESH!

But seriously: three cheers to the good doctor.

The best thing you can do for a baby is put his parents in prison and/or make them pay a fine that they will never be able to earn enough to pay off. That will really start the baby off on the right track to success.

Maybe we should put all parents in jail or make them pay a huge fine, for the good of the babies' development.
