Default Weird Names...

I couldn't seem to find the other thread about names...actually I couldn't be bothered to look for it. Ha.

But anyways I was watching Supernanny and the boy's name was Crew. To me, this is the strangest name I have heard. It goes beyond all the misspellings and made up names.

Here are all the things that come to mind:

J.Crew
Crew Cuts
Crew, the sport, rowing
Crew, like a group of friends
Crew-tons (kind of a stretch)
Crew neck shirts

I mean how weird.

Thoughts?

for the record I have nothing against this as a name. I just would of never thought to name someone after a really random word that really isn't even a noun.

I must admit the whole name thing blew right past me. I was too busy gasping at the kids playing with machetes and hatchets. MACHETES.
HATCHETS.

Didn't watch the show, but what comes to my mind when I hear that name is the rowing team.

I looked it up on a baby name website. It's a varient of Carew and it means 'chariot.'

I disagree. I think it is a noun.

I watched that one, too. (last night, then I fell asleep on t he couch and woke up at 3:30 a.m., lol).

The second boy had a totally off-the-wall name, too.

There are a lot of weirder names then Crew. However, Crew is a horrible name.

OMG I know! And he was pounding on that wood with the wrong side and the mother just stood there. I almost died.

I know of people giving their children unusual names, like "Crew" (in fact, I have a nephew whose name would probably fall in this catagory). It wouldn't be my choice, but I don't think it's "a horrible name"....
