Funny! My girlfriend who moved here from Boston quickly learned what real snow was when she moved to Pittsburgh.

That's a fair deal anytime of year! I'd love for someone to come over and cook at my house!

We lost a electricity (which means everything since the gas heat and hot water needs electricity to run) for four days during last year's blizzard.

I still love a good blizzard though.

That is so sweet!

Our elderly neighbor/adopted mom called this morning as soon as she saw the gas trucks outside. But now she's worried the same thing will happen to her as well.

Yeah, being from Ohio and living in South Dakota for 6yrs, I guess it just takes a LOT of snow for me to blink. I am not seeing anything close here in MA

What was the worst you had to endure when it comes to snow? I am curious.

Then you have to factor in temps and windchill where we had days literally in the -20s and close to -30!

That was us last year. It is depressing. I was so not looking forward to this winter since it didn't seem like we had much time off. But we certainly didn't get anything like that at least!

For us, it was the winter of 1992/1993. We had three outright blizzards that winter along with the typical big snow storms people normally complain about. We get blizzards on and off throughout the years, but it's rare for us to get three real blizzards in one winter season. We had to climb out the windows to shovel the snow because the snow drifts were over five feet up against the house and doors. As far as discomfort, last winter's blizzard was the worse in that regard---no electricity, no heat, no hot water for four days---but we're a camping family so we got through it fine. We spent a lot of time outside in the sunshine during the daylight to keep warm for that one.
