Honestly.....this is why I like Bobbi Brown's makeup philosophy....it's real and it's age appropriate. I started getting "into" her when DD started wearing makeup...I wanted a nice but appropriate look. We happen to have a Nordstrom nearby and a Bobbi Brown counter. I never felt comfortable about makeup so I took DD there (Bobbi Brown has a whole book about teenage beauty) so she would feel comfortable and confident. They did a lovely and age appropriate job.
I love that on their website they shoe REAL women of all ages, cultures etc as beautiful. Love it.... Bobbi Brown
Love Bobbi Brown stuff.
Bare Escentuals is another favorite.
Nordstroms gets me in the door no matter what; whether or not I spend money is another thing though they know offer a debit credit card...I was intelligent enough to not even think about it!!!!!
This probably sounds silly, but does anyone know of any ideas to end AWFUL menstrual cramps? I've been in bed all day, taken ibuprofen, heating pad, etc. and I'm about done! LOL
Oh strawflower - that's the worst. I'm ever so grateful that I "outgrew" debilitating cramps....It was bad enough dealing with them as a young woman. To have to still be dealing with it would be awful! Hope you feel better soon...

Thanks all. The funny thing is, I never had them when I was younger- I remember being a teenager/young adult thinking "wow, I'm lucky! I never get those cramps my friends are talking about". It is NOW (I am 41) that I am getting them- very painful!

I have found Advil liquid gels seem to work a bit faster and longer than other things. I usually take two.
I have also found laying in the shower whimpering tends to help.
When I got my tubes tied, some of the scar tissue showed up right near a nerve. So when I get my period, and the usual cramp muscles contract, they pinch the nerve. It's excruciating for around 40 minutes, starts in my womb area, and radiates up my side, down my arm, back up to my neck, down my spine, and down my leg to my ankle.
What I've found helpful, is to NOT lay down. Not even sit. If I have to, I use my cane, and pace back and forth, between trips to the bathroom. These cramps always smack my bowels around; anything more detailed would be TMI but I'm sure you get the idea.
When I lay down, the cramps get worse. My body ACHES to lay down. My mind aches to lay down. Every fiber of my being says "just lay down and die and it'll be all better" but the only thing that helps, is standing, and walking. Or limping. Or um..rapid bathroom activities.
I used to take darvon for the pain. Then I turned 15 and the doctor put me on the Pill. It didn't help much, but doctors stopped giving darvon for pain, so I did without during most of my growing up. I'm looking forward to menopause. Just a couple more years I keep telling myself..

I had the same experience during my kidney infection. The WORST was laying down. There was no such thing as a comfortable position. However standing offered a bit of relief.
