The shampoo I use is $21 a bottle for a medium sized bottle. But since I only wash my hair maybe 3 times a week it lasts me a a while. I allow myself very few indulgences in my life, this being one. A good hair tip is to dilute half a cup (or quarter of a cup depending on hair length) of white vinegar and put it through your hair leave on for a few minutes and wash out. Your hair will feel amazingly soft and it takes off all the buildup. I do it about once a month.

ohio - I've heard about the vinegar thing...I wonder whether it would affect color though? Might have to research that.

I only recently started using the Aveda - and only the shampoo - because I recently went from doing my own color to having a salon do it since I'm so gray and I was hesitant to keep doing the harsh chemicals so frequently. Anyway, since I was spending so much on the color, I wanted to be sure to make it last as long as possible with a gentle, more natural shampoo. I wish I could get away with shampooing every couple of days...I am so addicted to that first thing in the morning shower and shampoo - I just don't feel "awake" without it. Even when we have camped. Even if it has to be cold water Our hot water heater went out over a weekend (of course, doesn't it always?). I showered anyway. Quickly though.

For the record I do shower every day! Haha, I feel like when I tell people I only wash my hair 3 days a week they think I only shower 3 days a week! I actually got a really nice shower cap for christmas. It's made of nice material compared to my drug store one.

LOL - I knew what you meant (although...it's not great for your skin to shower everyday either)....I still have to wash my hair. I know it's not dirty - it doesn't have anything to do with that...it's just some psychological block that I don't feel right until it's done. Stupid actually - and I know it.

Oh no, I completely understand. I have very thick, very curly hair. If I were to wash it every day, it would kill it. Can't blow-dry it often either.

Sounds like what I need. Now the trick will be finding them. AZ isn't big on funky clothes and great little markets to buy different things like that. But I'm thinking now of hitting the stores the college kids shop in down by Arizona State.

Txt, if you really want to be a cop, one of the counties next to me is hiring for trainees. You get paid for going to the academy if I'm reading the posting correctly. County of Riverside - Human Resources Department
It's a desert area that is very hot in the summer and pretty nice in the winter. Also, housing is quite affordable with the recent crash because the housing market in that county was hit particularly hard.

I'm going to have to disagree with that, psr. Sorry, but Riverside is no place for txt. There is serious gang activity in some neighborhoods in that city.

It's an ice rink up here this morning! First time in a long time I made my son call me once he got to school safely. He's good driver but can't help to still worry......
