Once I had a patient with the first name Cheesette. It struck me as very odd at the time.

My mother had a cousin named Donald Duck. To his parents' credit, he was named long before the cartoon character was created.

I worked with a guy named Steel Woolinger. Enough said.

The worst honest-to-God name I have ever seen was...

La-Sha

It was pronounced LaDasha.

I'm NOT kidding.

La-a/Ladasha (and variations on it) is an urban legend that's been circulating for a few years now.

La-a, Orange and Lemon Jello, Rail and DeRail, Female, Urine, etc. Amazing. Truly amazing.

i saw in a movie once how a woman named her daughter "Female", but said it Femalee (soft e, soft a, hard ee) ... (rhyms with tamale)
but that was a movie. i have heard some odd names i wont say here---one guy i met has the name of a 60's cartoon character. the only problem is, i am not sure if he was born slightly before or slightly after the cartoon came out.

No, fortunately for them their mother gave them very normal first names.

My husband's cousin named his baby boy Pollock. Apparently it is a greek god. But they call him lucky. Have no idea why, he doesn't seem very lucky to me. When I named my son I wanted to use a certain middle name but his initials would have been SAD. I chose another name. It bothered me.

I had a baby sitter a couple of years ago named Barbie. Barbie Dahl. No joke. Poor woman was born 1 year before the toy came out. Although, she just turns it into a conversation piece and doesn't seem to have a problem with it.
