Yes...the winter and spring have both been mild and dry. DD called and said they have had rain up north all day. I'm so jealous. I'd love an all day rainstorm.

That's coming from yesterday's winds here. It was sunny but SUPER WINDY. Very strange day, yesterday.

Your big weather happens in the fall during hurricane season, right?

I love rain! Gotta love it in Pittsburgh otherwise the option is being miserable. It rains constantly here. More than Seattle.

It's weird how we like what we're used to. Super sunny days make me tense because I feel like I'm battling brightness and heat. I'm a wimp. I'll admit it.

no, hopes. I'm in Denver. Our big weather usually happens in the spring.

I don't know why I thought you were in Texas. I think I'm starting to lose my mind!

Sounds like you're going to have a mild summer. Wouldn't that be great if it's not too hot?

that would be nice... Although, I am from a place with really hot summers. Nothing here could ever compare to what I've lived in all my life. Even a heat wave here is still mild to me.

Morning all!

I just skimmed because I'm totally behind you lot - but I saw the ice cream maker.... yes that's the one! It's fabulous. Really fantastic. We made strawberry - you slice the strawberries and let them mascerate (!) in some lemon juice and sugar, for a couple of hours, so they make syrup, and then you just plop some milk and cream and sugar in bowl, mix it, throw it in the ice cream machine, turn it on, and 20 minutes later - voila! Friggin awesome ice cream. Delicious.

Watching that stuff churn up into ice cream is a totally zen experience. I could have just sat and stared at it.

You should all run down to Costco and get one. Best $29 I've spent in a long time.

Anyway, inlaws are gone so I'm back.

I did - thanks Zim.

It's totally exhausting, though. They're really lovely, but I always feel like they want to say something about everything and they just don't.

My MIL did say that she thought we were wonderful and patient parents (MissFR is going through a bossy boots stage) which was very nice, and I appreciated that a lot.

Sorry your dog is poorly. I'm glad she's feeling better.

LOL - IME, little girls and bossy are often pretty synonymous. The nature of the beast so to speak. It gets better. Then worse, then better....

Pretty morning here. Looks like we got some rain last night (not sure how much doesn't look like a lot but I'll take anything)....

Have a staff meeting to call into this morning then it's back to my chores. Determined to get most of what I set out to do done. Then I can enjoy the weekend - with a full house and all sorts of craziness here....

Zimbo - hope you get some rest today and that the pup does better......
