The job isn't coming. The department they were going to send me to doesn't have the funding for another person. I don't know why she didn't ask them that before telling me I was going to start and all.
Sorry to hear that. The government is cutting funding almost everywhere. It's very possible the funding was lost after she offered you the position.
I think that was me, I just said I was surprised seeing so many moms walking around at school in PJ's. I don't really care one way or the other, it was just an observation.
No - there was another discussion. Not the p.j. one. I think it morphed into more than that.
Sorry to hear that psr. I know we both believe everything happens for a reason. Hopefully something even better is out there and you'll find "the" job soon.
The job isn't coming. The department they were going to send me to doesn't have the funding for another person. I don't know why she didn't ask them that before telling me I was going to start and all. It's OK. I'll continue to collect my unemployment and keep looking. Meanwhile, if anything else opens up she's supposed to call me.
What?! I thought you had a start date and all! That is really crummy on their part!
Today we had a volunteer project at work. We painted (filled in) a mural at a community center for under privileged children. I was excited. However none of the kids (10-15) wanted to talk to us or even work with us. Also, some of the kids had blackberries. I was a littler nervous because we had to go to a bad part of town. Over all I enjoyed it and I got to paint a purple octopus
I understand that with more and more kids conceived this way maybe they want to include these story lines to make those kids feel more mainstream, but it sure did catch me off guard.
Why is this necessary? I'm trying to imagine a discussion with my son or daughter that would involve a description of their conception, and frankly, I'm thinking that's TMI whether the drugs involved are Follistim and Pergonal or tequila and Excedrin.

Why would they make a point of saying the father isn't a biological father? Isn't the entire point of having a child via IFV is for the child to be partly related biologically? If they don't care about the genetic connection, why wouldn't they adopt? I know. I'm on a rant. But it's all illogical to me. Sounds like a script writer had a personal agenda.
Oh good, it's not just me.
I'm thinking that, by the time my kid would need to know that-- so they don't inadvertently date their brother or something, assuming Donor Dad froze well-- they'd be way past the point of watching Disney preteen dramas.
