Army OCS. Ft. Benning, GA. 14 day field problem. No bathrooms. No showers. Land navigation which prohibits walking on surfaced areas. Rained every single day & night. Since it was OCS, the TACS wanted to be really you know whats & would wake us up at all hours of the night, in the rain, to do all sorts of stupid things b/c they were mad they had to be in the rain.
Ate in the rain. Slept in the rain. We all smelled. Dried our clothes out over fires (of course the TACS got mad about that b/c it showed our location & we had to put the fires out). Oh, and we were not allowed to wear rain gear b/c that just undercut the purpose of being a soldier at OCS. Fun times!
OCS is 4 months. My particular grauduating class went through during one of the hottest & rainest fall seasons in GA. I have over 200 pictures that to this day make me laugh. We were always in the rain.
It's been several years since then, but to this day I cannot appreciate enough a hot shower!
That sounds like quite an experience. People don't understand GA rain unless you live here. We used to live in Seattle, and there it does not rain, it drizzles. You can go hiking, play in it, etc. Here if it rains and you are in it for 2 minutes you are soaked all the way down to your undies.
Dew - I make those at home with Orowheat sandwich thins and veggie sausage patties...If I was really good, I'd make them with egg beaters and no cheese. I'm not that good so I only make them 1 day/week.
Sarah Lee used to have the best frozen croissants but they don't seem to sell them around here anymore. I used to love them with cream cheese. They tasted like freshly made. BK's are a little too mushy for me. I would rather have a sausage biscuit with hash browns from McDonalds which is the only time I will go there.
I love fresh croissants - don't know if I've had frozen....don't remember. Actually, I don't know that I've had a croissant in .... years. Mmmmm....just thinking about them....<drooling>

I know, right? When I still lived in Miami and worked in Coconut Grove, there was a french bakery where I used to get fresh croissants filled with cream cheese every morning with cafe au lait. I don't miss the job but I sure do miss those breakfasts!
