My niece emailed pictures of her Rome adventure last night. So when DH got home he sat and looked at them with me. We were there together when we were in college. I was looking at all the photos of the romantic places like Trevi Fountain and getting all misty with memories. I looked at DH who had kind of a dreamy look in his eyes. So I asked him what he was thinking:
"I'm thinking it's been a long time since we had spaghetti."
Dew - that's hilarious. I was teasing DH the other day that although we have been together for 24 years this year, sometimes I look at him and wonder how on earth I could have chosen someone so absolutely and totally opposite from me in every possible way. And he would be your DH's clone on the romance meter.

Hey Dew... perhaps he meant "I'm thinking it's been a long time since we had spaghetti... in Rome". Any chance of that? Maybe he's going to surprise you with a romantic getaway! No?
Give me his number. I might have to put a bug in his ear.

Not to Italy.
But he's been talking about going up to the Grand Canyon to photograph the sunrises and sunsets. Something he's never done. I told him if we got a room at the El Tovar (which is right on the rim) all he'd have to do is open the drapes! To be continued....(I'm pretty darn good at talking him into things. With him you just plant the idea, wait a while, and let him think it's his idea. )
Thanks everyone. She's a trooper and has an amazingly positive attitude - the doctors are hopeful that she will make a full recovery. I think it is scary that she's so young, too - I guess it's a good reminder not to take the health we do have for granted, whatever our ages.
I'm really ready for our vaycay - such as it is (visiting family in the midwest). I no longer have a laptop so I will really and truly be out of contact with work. That is kind of scary to me. I know it will be a good thing though.
I was at work all day today but it looked beautiful out. Must go do my hand watering here shortly....don't want my pots and newly planted stuff to dry out!
