Good Morning All!

Kobber - sorry we weren't night owls last night. We're the wrong demographic!

Coop - sorry about your back. Bummer. And cheers mate!

MM - that's funny.

And for the record, I'm not much into dead guys!

In our backyard we have a small pond surrounded by a rock garden in which I've planted all kinds of things over the years for a very eclectic kind of look. Problem is....I have no idea what anything is anymore. I probably need to head to the nursery to try to figure out what I've got and write it down. Right now, I'm enjoying the California poppies and the dianthus both of which are blooming. A few other things are too but I have no idea what they are except they are purple. One of them is something I keep wondering if it's something I planted on purpose or is it just a pretty flowering weed...

Morning all.

Yech. I'm on dial-up this morning. (Something was rude enough to die.) Luckily DH is a tech wizard and (hopefully) a trip to Best Buy will solve the problem.

Zimbo that one cracks me and DH up every time! He is so the guy in his khakis, polo (not a RL one usually) and his phone on his belt!

As the time ticks away I am realizing I still haven't heard if my in-law's are coming to town. Last I heard was 3.5 weeks ago that they'd let us know. Somewhere in there was mention of them having their time share in the mts less than 2 hours from here the last week of June. The last week of June starts in 1 week. they never did give exact dates, or really tell us if we were invited to join them or not.

this is the kind of thing that causes me to sympathize with Mattie. I'm a planner and my MIL makes it sooooo hard. She does everything last minute.

All I can ever think is that if it were MY parents, no way would they, first of all, buy a time share 1.5 hours away from us and not tell us; and second, book it, without finding out our availability.

Life goes on. If they call and invite us a week out, we'll probably have to say no, and that's their loss.

I hope things work out OK, rkb. That kind of stuff can get on my nerves too.

DH got our new wireless connections made. Yippee. Of course we had a "thing" because he knows all the correct names for everything and I'm calling it "thingy". I finally just said, "You do it" though I hate when he messes with my computer. But he did a bang-up job. Even got my Kindle all fixed up and ready to go.

Hey all - just checking in....got my errands run, cleaning out the fridge to make sure I don't have any nasty surprises in there when we return....and of course...laundry....

Glad you got all your thingies fixed Dew.....and BTW..."thingy" is a perfectly good technical term...

kind of reminds me of a conversation I had with a coworker the other day.....DS had been invited to dinner with a friend's family. They were going to Ted's Montana Grill....We were talking about it and I couldn't remember names so I said "you know...what's his name...who used to be married to what's her name" the scary part was my coworker said..."oh I know who you mean...that's right!" . At least I'm not aging all by myself.

I got some chicken bratworst for dinner tonight. Tomorrow night we'll splurge on some flank steak on spring greens with chipotle ranch dressing and topped with crispy tortilla strips....and maybe some grilled jalapeno poppers....

mm that sounds delicious.

We're going out for Hawaiian tonight for Father's Day. A new place. Well, new to us. Otherwise very quiet here.

"Thingy" is fine to say as long as you don't accidentally mix up a "thingy" and a "thingamajig". If you get those mixed up, it can really mess up the "whatchamacallit" and that would be disasterous.
