I always meant to keep a journal. I find half started journals on occassion and they bring back great memories. It's really worth it to journal these years Finster. It's hard to do, but truly worth the effort.

That's almost as frustrating as when she'll be "very 13" or "very 17".....sigh...."very 21" still has it's challenges but more like....you're just so glad you're not that age anymore not like you're wondering if exorcisms are under "E" in the yellow pages .....

I do wish I had done that. My mom kept telling me to because DD is very .... quirky and comes up with the weirdest and funniest things to say that she is very serious about but has everyone rolling in the aisles.....

Hey that's a really nice idea, Hopes. Even the days of her being two and younger are starting to fade in my memory. And it is truly awesome how excited she is by everything.

Here's my recommendation (based on many failed attempts!).
Don't try to be fancy. No scrapbooking. It's too much work. You'll pull all sorts of pictures and memorabelia together and it will end up in a pile that you'll find years later but your thoughts and memories won't be with the pile of stuff that never got pasted in the scrapbook.
Just buy a journal. Keep it by your bed or at your desk or wherever you have downtime regularly. Just jot memories into it. When you have a picture or a scrap of memory, like a picture she drew in preschool OR OR OR her nametag for her desk (yes, I still have my children's nametags for their desks!), just paste it on a page in your handwritten journal.
Just plop it in there. The writen memories are the ones that are really going to be relavant years later. Focus on those. Don't worry about it being neat and orderly. That will bog you down.

FR...but of course! I actually liked it this year. The first season I got bored with it because it wasn't "really" a competition - no one was eliminated - or really even critisized...they kind of pandered to the chefs....Not so much this season.....(I think there was a season or two in between which I didn't watch because I was bored with the first go-round).....Did you watch it?
