Did it get on your clothes and shoes? That happened to a friend of mine once except the paint went all over the interior of her car and then destroyed her and her husbands clothes when they were trying to deal with it. The entire interior needed to be rebuilt and the store paid them for their clothing losses too.

Good morning ladies and germs! I trust everyone is fine on this glorious day! It's 86 here already at 11am, so I think we are in for a blistering day. Time to get some yardwork done before it gets much hotter. The kids are already groaning about going back to school tomorrow AND they start CRCT testing tomorrow. What morons thought it was a good idea to do testing the day the kids get back from spring break?

We're having a heat wave in Pittsburgh! It's 58 degrees! (I can't imagine it being 86 degrees in April!)

I'm getting read to head out for a day visit with my girlfriend who lives in farm country. It has been a few months since I've been there. I always enjoy it.

Zimbo, those morons probably thought it would be the perfect time because the kids would be well rested. Meanwhile, they're be exhausted because they're off schedule.

Oh well. It's the school district's loss of funding if the students don't test to standards.

While it is unfortunate your kids have to test right away after they get back (not a good idea!), at least your kids have a spring break! Our district decided several years ago that spring break takes away from "necessary learning time". While I'm all for learning, I feel like at this time of year, the kids could really use a break! Doesn't have to be a whole week, but at least a few days!

I'm sure the logic is good to let them test when they are fresh from a break, the reality is most are out of routine, and probably need at least a week to settle down.

Yikes, no spring break, that's tough Strawflower. My kids were really dragging before this week. The winter blahs, and a solid chunk or school means they are ready to recharge. Do you not have another break before the end of the year? Our school year ends very early, May 25th.

Yep- mine are the same way! I can definitely see how a week off would benefit them. We get out on June 3rd and the breaks they have are a half day on Good Friday, another one in mid-May and Memorial Day.

good morning! Today we celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary. We're going out to dinner (all 4 of us).

When our elem went off tracks we got to vote for traditional or modified traditional, so they get 2 weeks for spring break and 2 weeks in October. The down side is a short summer, June 3-Aug 1. My niece and nephew got a 5 day weekend for presidents day and no spring break.

Happy Anniversary rkb!

Our school district has been messing with our calendar over the last few years trying to save money. It's irritating, and the calendar for 2011/2012 is still not finalized. That's fine for SAHM's, but I really feel sorry for working families. We were also scheduled to have a break in September, and that was cancelled a few weeks ago, but not before many people paid for travel. Should be an interesting week, as many kids are not going to be there.

Happy Anniversary rkb!

I always liked that modified B track schedule. I think it's the best of all worlds. Even the shorter summer...my kids were always ready to go back anyway by then and I was tired of hearing "I'm booooored" (which actually they learned NOT to say once I started leaving lists of things bored children could be accomplishing)....
