Ewag - the moving day part is no fun but you must be so excited to move into your first house! Shameless plug here but MrFR does a lot of home improvement and repairs in the Montco area... give us a shout if you have anything that needs fixing.

coop - how's your wee lad?

Zim - how's your friend's family? I feel awful for them, and for the hubby. It's a very rough time. Hopefully it's the catalyst he needs to get himself on the right track. Hopefully too, the people that were around will be understanding - unfortunately there's such a terrible social stigma when someone is an alcoholic, that they often don't seek any help because they're so ashamed of their state. Some compassion toward the drinker as well as his family goes a long way. Hugs to them.
I know this is true. When my friend revealed he had a pill problem, our family jumped in and asked what we could do to help. We emptied our house of anything that might be tempting for the first few months. We took him to Dr appts. We helped his wife on the first horrible detox night by sitting vigil with her and bringing her whatever she needed. After he got better, he told us that meant more to him than anything else because it told him that he had support and he wasn't being shunned. He waited so long to get help because he was afraid of everyone leaving if he came forward with his problem. He was so ashamed of what had happened to him.

He also told us that he fought harder to get better when he saw his support system in place. He didn't want to disappoint everyone who stood by him and believed in him, so he fought much harder than he thought possible.

These people definitely need support to get better. I am glad you are there for them Zim. I am sure it means more to them than they can say right now.

Oooo, why yes, I did. I have been meaning to let you know. I knew you'd love it!

Very interesting ending and much thought provoking for a Godless Communist such as myself. (Plus I didn't see it coming).

I rescheduled my ultrasound. Just didn't feel like going. I'm pathetic because the results of the ultrasound could be a reason I don't feel like doing anything. LOL

I can relate Hopes. There are days I just can't handle anything medical.

BTW In our drinking game? Where we take a shot if we disagree with each other? I just took a shot re: your opinion of a certain poster. LOL.

DH calls that game "Bing" BTW so.....

BING!

You might want to pick up that bottle ASAP.

BTW I used to have a nightgown that looked very much like the dress you picked out for Mattie. It was one of DH's favorites.

I'm steaming a U2 Joshua Tree documentary on Netflix right now Not a bad way to spend an afternoon. I'm also thinking that we're out of wine and beer. If I know DH at all, I can count on him to come home with some.
