I'm on a bit of an annoyed rampage today - someone (pretty sure DH) didn't replace the toilet paper roll. This is a pet peeve - how lazy is it to not do it for the next person. But to go a step further today - who ever the offender is did take the old roll off and put the rod back on empty! Who does that? I'm pretty sure the same person who used the last bit of paper towel in the kitchen this morning and didn't replaced that roll either

We have that same problem in our house....but it is pretty gutsy to actually take the time to throw the cardboard roll away and put the roller back empty! I'm with you on the kitchen paper towels too. Here, it's that people take the kitchen towel roll because they are too lazy to go down to the basement where I keep all the extra paper products. They use it to clean the bathroom or the car or whatever and leave it in the cleaning supply bucket...

It's 114 outside.
Very grateful to be inside with working a/c. We went shopping to stock up on supplies and out to lunch. That's it. I am not going back out there. (Roads are nice and empty though. Everyone else has left town.)

Yes, it was almost as if someone was trying to make a statement by putting the roller back on empty. I'm wishing now I had left a note instead of grumbling and putting a new roll on myself.......

yikes....don't know that I could do that heat. My neice lives in your neck of the woods and I think she likes it....At some point, my family lived out in the high desert in CA - I was either in college or out of college and living elsewhere. I can remember hearing about it being 118 and just going .
I do cold better than heat...but I guess to some extent at some point it's all the same. Too hot/cold to go outside....
Low 80s here - overcast and hearing some thunder....that may or may not mean rain...it will rain somewhere but it often doesn't hit here...

The heat here explains a lot of the insanity in our state government.
The funny thing is you do acclimate. I went outside last evening around 7 when it was 102 and it really didn't seem that bad. The natives cope especially well. In fact they get all huffy if you mention the heat.
Right now I'm enjoying an Otter Pop. It helps.

LOL - we have a whole box of those on top of the garage freezer....I keep forgetting to put them in...At the end of every summer I end up throwing away all the grape ones 'cause no one will eat them.

The best flavors and the soda pop and Hawian punch ones. Grape is yucky. I got one the other day thinking it was something else.
