omg - I so agree. If I had to have a shot in the roof of my mouth, I wouldn't go in!

Each thing will only cost a couple of hundred each. But I'm feeling guilty about spending $500 on myself.
I feel like I should pick one or the other but I can't decide and feel like I should't spend any money at all.
Hubby is encouraging me to go for it and do both things.
Why do women have such a hard time doing nice things for themselves?
Hopes, this is so true and I don't know why. It's very, very sweet of your DH to say to do both. Whatever you decide - you have to not feel guilty about it. Easier said than done I know because I would beat myself up.
If you are trying to choose - well, I don't know! The cabin sounds wonderful. But golf lessons - that might be fun because it's on going.
We used to live near from their other headquarters. Several of our neighbors were COS. They're...um...interesting.
Are you talking about their Flagship in Clearwater? I worked about a block from there when I was pregnant. It is crazy watching them on the streets. They actually look like they are brainwashed. Really creepy when you see them in large crowds and they are all like drones.
rkb....those were the same words coming out of my mouth 15 years ago...in this same house LOL....We really thought, when we bought it, we wouldn't be here more than 5 years....(in this house, we knew we'd stay in CO)...then I decided to seriously dial down work, then we just got busy with all the kids activities, etc etc...it was always something. Right now, with the economy as it is, I'm actually quite grateful we never made the financial leap to the houses I would have liked....although I do wish we had a finished basement still though because it would have given teens somewhere here to hang out. As it stands, my son and his group usually hang somewhere else - and only occasionally here....
Good morning all - happy end of August! Just heard today that we could hit record highs...and go on record as the hottest August....fabulous.
We could stay here and be reasonably comfortable, but I'd rather not. this is our 3rd house. We made money on the first one, lost on the second, but still came out overall ahead. If we sold now, we'd lose money on this one too, but still be ahead. Stupid economy. It will depend on what happens work-wise with me in the next year or 2. If we do move, I'm going to very picky, so it might not ever happen.
Warning Hopes, ever woman I know who has taken golf lessons has ended up hooked. DH only played when he couldn't avoid it (work related), so we never got into the big bucks.
I vote for the cabin! We are actually talking about doing the same thing here. A friend found a deal where we would get 2 trail rides, skeet shooting and all meals for $185.00 each if 4 people went. Even that price has some hesitating.
Every time I go out of town for a couple of days, DH takes on a project that he knows I want done. This weekend he revarnished all the wood floors. They could still do with sanding and refinishing, but in the meantime they look 1000% better. He's a good guy, and handy. He redid our basement last year, and it's beautiful. The only thing left to do is to tile the tub surround in the full bath. He says he won't do it. I am thinking about taking one of those do-it-yourself classes at Home Depot and taking it on. I would love to be able to bathe the dogs down there.
Does no one care that our Hopes has a dentist who is putting SNOT into her mouth?
Ladies! Have you no compassion? Have you no sense of, "Ewwww"?
